As everyone quickly averted their gazes, Liam himself simply sneered before scoffing, “Come again, Zivon…?”

Walking right up to Liam, Zivon replied, “You heard what I said… Are you not meeting your elder for the first time…? Don’t you think it’s only right to kneel before her while presenting your gift? Don’t tell me that your actions are actually superficial…?”

Naturally, his words caused Liam to glare at him. Just as Liam was about to retort, however, Zivon added, “Remember how sincere I was when I first met everyone two decades ago, Liam…? You’ll just be kneeling for a while in front of my mother, Liam. Is it that hard for you to do…?”

Back then, Hershel had told him to serve everyone a cup of tea. When it came to the ten-year-old Liam, however, he had told Zivon to serve him tea on his knees, saying that the boy wasn’t sincere enough. Since Zivon had still been a frightened child at the time, he was forced to kneel for hours till his knees hurt…

Knowing what Zivon was referring to, all Liam could do was clench his fists. Frowning slightly, Keith replied, “…At a time like this?”

Rubbing his temple, Zivon grumbled, “She’s been getting more and more stuck up now that she’s pregnant and knows that she has the palace behind her back… I’m just giving her some room to calm down.”

Annoyed by that response, Keith replied, “…Uncle Zivon, pregnant women have it hard enough. Don’t you think you should be more considerate to her? What kind of husband even are you?”

Either way, once dinner was over, Liam maintained his calm façade until he got to his room… But once the door closed behind him, his expression instantly turned sinister. To think that Zivon had tried to make him kneel before that homewrecker…!

After taking a deep breath, he glared at his assistant before growling, “Keep a keen eye on Xavia these next few days. He probably just made up that bullshit excuse to keep an eye on me, and also to make it seem like he doesn’t care about that woman!”

Surprised to hear that, the assistant replied, “I didn’t consider that at all! Good thinking! Don’t worry, I’ll be sure to observe her as much as possible!”

Sneering in response, Liam then pulled out a flower from a nearby vase before crushing it in his palm.
