"Nathan, stop chatting with my daughter and focus on the board. Otherwise, you'll lose without even knowing how it happened."

Morris picked up a piece and placed it down with ease.

Lincoln suddenly realized his defenses were down.

He couldn't be bothered to capture Morris's pieces and had to switch to defense.

When he finally caught his breath, he looked at Morris, who seemed unbelievably relaxed.

He had a revelation: "You've been tricking me, haven't you? You've got to be experienced, probably play a lot online, right?"

"Not really," Morris replied with a shrug.

"You sly devil, how can a newbie defend so well?"

Nathalie couldn't help but chuckle. "Dad, Nathan's really smart," she reminded him.

Lincoln, even more puffed up, boasted, "Oh? Your dad's a math genius, a champion at the International Math Olympiad back in the day."

Nathalie fell silent.

Everyone knew her dad was exceptionally smart.

And so was Morris, but not many knew of his brilliance. If he ever chose to showcase his talents, he'd surely be standing at the top.

But he preferred the quiet life, low-key and peaceful, almost like an old soul.

Lincoln started bragging again in front of his daughter, "Vivian, want to place a bet? Who do you think will win, me or Morris?"

Without missing a beat, Nathalie said, "Definitely Nathan."

Lincoln's eyes widened in disbelief, "You have so little faith in your dad? Ah, you're a romantic, aren't you?"
