Morris forced a smile. "Nathalie, dealing with those flashing lights and cold, sterile instruments isn’t my thing. And I really can't stand those stern-faced doctors."

Nathalie crouched in front of him, holding his hand gently. "I'll be right there with you, Morris."

Morris looked into Nathalie's deep, clear eyes, feeling like they held the entire night sky, with each star shining just for him.

He couldn’t say no to her. "Alright."

Nathalie let out a relieved sigh.

The next morning.

Jules arrived bright and early at the Stewart Estate, hoping to catch up with Lincoln and Morris. But he was a bit too early; Lincoln and Nathalie were still asleep, leaving Morris, who hadn’t slept well, to greet him.

When Morris opened the door and saw Jules, he was momentarily surprised.

Jules felt a bit awkward, offering a greeting, "Morning, Master Nathan, we meet again."

Morris nodded, keeping his tone neutral. "Here to see Mr. Lincoln? I can fetch him for you."

Jules stopped him. "Actually, I came to see you."

Morris raised an eyebrow in surprise. "Oh? Me?"

Morris led Jules to a cozy garden gazebo. Once they were seated, Jules began to speak earnestly. "Lincoln and I go way back; we're practically brothers. If I'd known sooner that you and Vivian were his family, I wouldn't have been so rude that day."

"Nathan, I’m really sorry. I shouldn’t have acted like that."

Morris stayed silent.
