Kisa peered at Gilbert's face while holding her breath. She had a feeling that something had gone wrong.

After Gilbert hung up the phone, Kisa could not help but ask, "What's the matter?"

Gilbert had a grim expression.

"Stay here, and don't go out."

"How about you..."

Gilbert made a beeline for the door, "I've got something urgent to do. I'll be back soon."

When he got to the door, he turned to Kisa once more.

"Remember, don't go out," he said coldly.

"Okay..." Kisa responded.

Then, Gilbert rushed out the door.

Kisa stared at the shut door, wondering what caused him to be so worried.

She proceeded to open the lunch box on the table.

When Kisa saw the lunch box filled to the brim with steak, she could not help but frown.

'Gilbert must think I've never had the chance to eat steak. He brought me such a huge box of it!' she thought.

The steak looked and smelled delicious. However, Kisa was not able to stomach it for now.

She pushed the steak aside and started eating the soup instead.

Just as Kisa finished her soup, the ointment on her leg had also dried.

She grabbed the espadrilles Gilbert brought her and tried them on. Not only did they fit her snugly, but they were also soft and did not agitate the wounds on her feet.

Kisa stared at the pair of espadrilles. For a moment, she was in a daze.

'Gilbert had never been so considerate before and bought me items as such. This is all thanks to Ada and Andrew,' she thought.

At two in the afternoon, Kisa gave Ariella a call.

"Hey, Ariella. Something came up, so I can't accompany you to the event anymore. Sorry."

Kisa thought Ariella would be upset.

To her surprise, Ariella responded coolly, "It's a good thing that you won't be attending the event; GK Pictures assigned me an assistant at the very last minute. It seems like they value me a lot!"

Kisa frowned.

Later in the evening, she was awoken by loud and hurried sounds of knocking.

She quickly sat up and looked at her surroundings.

The knocking sounds were still ongoing. After pausing for a moment, she dashed over to the door.

Kisa peered through the peephole and saw Davian.

He had a troubled look on his face.

She quickly opened the door in fear that something had happened.

Just as Kisa opened the door, Davian barged in and locked the door.

Kisa stared at him in shock, "What's... What's the matter?"

"Come with me!" Davian said.

Then, he grabbed her arm before she could respond.

Kisa was frightened.

She broke free from his grasp, "What's the matter? Where's Gilbert?"
