"Something has happened to Mr. Kooper."

Kisa noticed the blood stain on Davian's shoulder while he was speaking.

"You're hurt?" she asked, alarmed.

Davian glanced at his shoulder hastily and said, "It's just a small injury. Come with me, ma'am."

"To... To where? What happened to Gilbert?"

'Since Davian is Gilbert's personal assistant, something terrible must have happened for him to be in so much panic. But he's the Gilbert Kooper; who'd dare to lay a finger on him?' she wondered.

"Let's leave the questions for later, ma'am. Come with me and leave for Cathon right this instant, " Davian said with worry.

"How about Gilbert?"

She thought of Gilbert's warning before he left.

Then, she said hesitantly, "I think I'll wait till Gilbert gets back."

"Mr. Kooper has already returned to Calthon."

"What?"

Kisa instantly felt an inexplicable sense of dreadfulness and unjust.

'If Davian didn't come to me, I would've been waiting for Gilbert here like an idiot,' she thought.

Davian tugged Kisa toward the door, "Let's go, ma'am."

Once again, Kisa broke free from his grasp.

"Gilbert said he'd be back! What's happened to him?"

"This all happened because Anthony Mullen kidnapped Miss Case! Mr. Kooper got hurt while saving Miss Case. Thankfully, he managed to escape with Miss Case; they're currently on the way back to Calthon."

Davian nodded, "My men came back with injuries. They told me that Miss Case was kidnapped by Anthony and that Mr. Kooper got hurt while rescuing her. I was also told that he requested my immediate assistance."

"But did you see Sharon get kidnapped with your own two eyes?" Sharon asked as the statements grew more and more peculiar.

Davian shook his head, "Nope. By the time I arrived, they had already started their brawl. I didn't see Mr. Kooper or Miss Case, but my subordinates told me they had left for Calthon via an alternate route. They also informed me that Mr. Kooper ordered me to take you to Calthon immediately."

Hearing this, Kisa's heart grew heavier.

She asked Davian nervously, "Do you think Gilbert would convey such information to you through your subordinates? You're his most trusted assistant; when faced with such a dire situation, wouldn't Gilbert have told you directly?"

"Gilbert is a careful and meticulous man. If he did go to save Sharon, wouldn't he make arrangements to prevent any resulting ramifications?" she added.

Davian's heart sank, "Ma'am, you're saying that..."

"What else?! It's a trap!" Kisa said as she dragged Davian back into the hotel.

However, just as they turned their backs, several bodyguards emerged from the crowd and had them surrounded.
