Andros’s POV

A flicker of distaste crossed my features at her casual reference to me as one of Astrid’s kin. “She’s not my family!” I snapped, fury igniting in my gaze.

Giselle recoiled, surprise painting her face at my sudden outburst. I inhaled deeply, striving to regain my composure after failing to curb my reaction.

“I’m not related to a monster,” I hissed, diverting my gaze as I attempted to restore my usual demeanor.

Instead of retreating in fear, Giselle offered a playful smile, her eyes sparkling with intrigue. “Sir Andros, what brings you all the way here to see me?” she whispered, gliding closer with an effortless grace.

I met her gaze, and there it was—the unmistakable glint of mischief, the spark of a scheme brewing behind those captivating eyes.

Giselle was every bit as cunning and scheming as I had suspected. Of course, It takes someone like her to recognize her own nature, and now, knowing she had seen through me, she showed no hesitation in asking me questions.

“I sensed something was amiss when I saw you here, but I didn’t expect you’d come specifically for me to discuss this matter,” she said, stepping around to circle me, closing the space between us with a calculated elegance.

“The Pack courtyard and the Packhouse are at two different locations. You didn’t need to take this route,” she continued, her words a clever trap meant to corner me so I would no longer dare to hide the truth. What do you want, Sir Andros?”

I held her gaze and smirked. “You already know what I want. Didn’t I tell you already?”

Giselle scoffed, a hint of amusement threading in her voice. “You came here to ask me to do your dirty work, didn’t you?”

I fell momentarily speechless at her words. I had thought Giselle would be easy to manipulate, much like Asha, but her cleverness caught me off guard, leaving me grappling for a response.

“You’ve got it all wrong,” I finally managed to say, forcing a calmness into my voice. “I’m actually here to help.”

Giselle shook her head in dismay and crossed her arms tightly. “As the future Alpha of the Shadowfang Pack, I expected more from you. I never thought that you could even defeat someone as insignificant as Astrid.”

I gritted my teeth as I felt offended by her words. However, I instantly recovered, not letting her meaningless words get through my heart.

I straightened myself and let out a laugh that dripped with disdain. “Insignificant? Do you still think she’s insignificant? If only you’d finished your job before her identity was revealed, she wouldn’t have turned into a huge problem for us.”

I leaned in, my tone sharp. “After so many failures, you still repetitively fall on the same mistake. No wonder why Astrid still continues to torment your life.”
