Elijah beamed. Evidently, he'd heard what Liesel said. The amusement in his eyes deepened. "It's really difficult to hear you say those words to me. Don't worry. Not only will I come back safe, but I'll even bring you some local specialties."

With that, he drove off.

Why had Elijah intervened in this matter?

Actually, he could have rejected Dash's contract outright. Still, he came to Ford Corporation's office, and he didn't even try to retort when Jacob suggested he go overseas to evaluate the partnership.

He and Jacob weren't considered good friends, so how was Jacob able to make him do something?

"Natalie, are you never going to learn your manners? Get out. This is my office, not the CEO's office where you can enter and leave as you please," Liesel said in a bone-chilling tone. She really didn't want to see Natalie.

Right now, Natalie looked so weak in her wheelchair. Yet, she refused to back down as she said to Liesel, "I can enter the CEO's office, so who are you to disallow me from coming here?"

She wheeled her wheelchair in front of Liesel in a confrontational manner. "Liesel, did you sabotage me intentionally? I bet you purposely asked Elijah to come and mess up this collaboration when you saw that Dash had chosen me to be the intermediary.

"Or perhaps, you just want me out so that you can steal the credit for yourself!"

Liesel was surprised by her strange line of thought. She couldn't help but snicker. "Natalie, take a guess as to why Dash didn't choose me. Well, it's because we've met before, two years ago."
