When Shirley heard Jeffrey’s words, she quickly brought a glass of water to him. 

Jeffrey’s hands were still regaining strength, so Shirley kindly held the glass to his lips and helped him drink slowly. 

Jeffrey looked at Shirley with gratitude, having noticed everything she had done for him since last night, and felt deep down that she was someone he could trust. 

As the water went down his throat, Jeffrey’s dry lips, which had been parched for days, finally felt some relief. 

Jeffrey breathed a sigh of relief, but all the awkwardness he had experienced over the past few days turned into resentment toward Cherise. 

After Cherise hit Jeffrey with something, his mouth wouldn’t close, and he even drooled. 

Later, Jeffrey was turned away by all the major hospitals in Betrico, and he was even laughed at by every doctor and nurse. He had never been so embarrassed in his life. 

Everyone in the ward was thrilled to see Jeffrey recovering. 

They were all complimenting Yulia. 

Mandy said first, “Ms. Muller, you’re not only talented but also kind and beautiful. You’ve healed my future son–in–law so quickly, far surpassing any renowned doctor in all of Betrico.” 

Jemma said, “That’s right! Ms. Muller, I really must thank you properly.” She was excited. 

As others chimed in, Yulia felt a bit self–conscious. She responded, “Thank you, everyone, but I only helped to ease some of Mr. Chamber’s symptoms. His recovery was spontaneous; it was just the right time for it.” 

Henry joyfully said, “Ms. Muller, you’re being modest. We all saw it with our own eyes, didn’t we, Jeffrey? 

“Jeffrey, how are you feeling now?” 

Yulia was at a loss for words, so she just decided to stay silent. 

With Shirley’s help, Jeffrey slowly stood up and walked over to Yulia. 

Looking at Yulia, who was stunning, Jeffrey slowly began to speak, “Thank you, Ms. Muller. What happened to me? I only remember someone hitting the back of my head. It barely hurt. You mentioned something about acupuncture points–is that true?” 

Yulia nodded at Jeffrey and asked, “Yes, do you know who hit you back then?” 

As Jeffrey heard her words, a growing hatred filled his eyes. 

“Of course I know. I will never forget–it was Cherise!” said Jeffrey through clenched teeth. 

But inside, Jeffrey was really scared of being embarrassed by Cherise again if she hit him again. 

“No way, how could it be Cherise? How could she do that?” Shirley said in complete disbelief. 

Jacob said, “Yeah, Jeffrey, maybe it’s a misunderstanding. Besides, isn’t Cherise just a regular professor of traditional medicine?” 

Mandy chimed in, “If Cherise really did it, I should apologize to you on behalf of the Leach family. Jeffrey, we’re truly sorry.
