As Leo and Crow watched Morris and Cherise disappear into the shadowy woods, their lips twitched with disbelief. 

Crow, puzzled, turned to Leo and asked, “Is it common for people in love to be so callous? They left us?” 

Leo nodded in agreement, echoing Crow’s sentiments. “Let’s move, though. Where’s the car? We need to get out of here.” 

Upon hearing this, Crow mimicked Morris, taking Leo’s hand as they disappeared into the trees. 

On the eerily quiet midnight road, the tranquility was suddenly shattered by a low rumble. 

A sleek motorcycle sped along the deserted highway, cutting through the night like a flash of lightning. 

The man at the helm, with chiseled features as perfectly sculpted as a statue, deftly maneuvered the machine. Behind him, a voluptuous woman rested her head against his broad back, her arms tightly clasping his waist. 

With the wind rushing past, her cap flew off, and her long hair tumbled down like a waterfall. Strikingly handsome, he matched her stunning beauty; together, they were a picture of cool sophistication. 

In less than an hour, they returned to Glenshire Gardens. 

The ride was silent as they ascended to the 26th floor. Cherise used her fingerprint to unlock door 2601, stepping inside just before Morris followed closely. 

Without delay, he shut the door with a decisive motion, pressing Cherise against it, her expression ready. 

The warmth of his breath ghosted over her delicate face as Morris spoke in a low, magnetic voice, “My girlfriend is quite adept, isn’t she?” 

“Oh, you are even better,” Cherise replied, looking down, unable to meet his gaze.

Reluctantly, she locked eyes with his deep, penetrating stare. 

Morris held her gaze and then asked, “Darling, do you have anything to explain to your boyfriend?” 

Cherise thought for a moment before deciding there was nothing to hide. She spoke candidly, “Well, Felix is Mandy’s biggest supporter. Over the years, he’s helped her orchestrate murders, including the incidents involving Barack and Sean’s legs. 

“I even suspect that my mother’s death is tied to them. Furthermore, Felix’s misdeeds include illegal smuggling, extorting others into prostitution, and running unlicensed gambling rings. 

“I need more substantial evidence to prove my suspicions, which is why I infiltrated the chemical plant to find documents proving his crimes. That’s when I encountered you.” 

Morris shook his head, a mixture of concern and resignation clouding his features. He sighed, “If you had been any slower, unable to find the evidence, surrounded by that many attackers. 

Cherise chuckled softly. “Did you not see my skills?” 

“True, you are quite capable, but it worries me. Shouldn’t your boyfriend handle matters like these?” Morris replied lightheartedly, playfully tapping her nose. 

Then he revealed the documents he had been holding. “I’m tasked with uncovering Felix’s crimes, but he’s entangled with powerful figures who protect him. It’s no easy feat for an ordinary person to bring him down.
