As soon as Oliver finished speaking, the entire room erupted in hock. 

“So, Jacob cheated on Claire with Mandy when Claire was working as a war correspondent in Astaria?” 

“Jacob is such an unfaithful jerk. His cheating caused only his wife and daughter to suffer.” 

“Exactly. And if you think about it, Mandy marrying Jacob so soon after Claire’s passing must have been premeditated. 

“Neither Jacob nor Mandy are any good, but, as always, the drama of wealthy families is messy and hard to untangle.” 

Watching the crowd’s reaction, Jacob realized he had no choice but to admit the truth. For years, he had publicly claimed Shirley as his adopted daughter, which was unfair to both her and her mother. 

He stepped onto the stage, stood before the microphone, and bowed his head as if in remorse. “Yes, Shirley is indeed the biological daughter of me and Mandy.” 

With that, he turned and tightly held both Shirley’s and Mandy’s hands, presenting a harmonious scene.
