Rayburn took a sip of coffee to clear his throat. "That old fellow Gavino has a great-granddaughter. I've heard mixed things about her—she's lively, but a good person. Wanted to get your thoughts on her.

"While I'm against arranged marriages, you have such a brooding nature, I think you need to meet some lively girls.

"Even if it doesn't develop, it might be good just to get to know her a bit. What do you think?"

Jason set down his coffee cup and adjusted his gold-rimmed glasses. "Let's just see what happens."

He knew who Gavino's great-granddaughter was and got along well with Cherise, so he didn't refuse right away.
