Since Dora’s marriage to Liam, Cherise hadn’t had such a deep conversation with her in a long time. 

The two hours flew by happily, and if Dora hadn’t had other things to do, they could have talked all night. 

Noticing that Dora had responsibilities, Cherise told Dora she was heading home. 

As she opened the door, she ran into Jason.

The cafe staff set down two cups of coffee in front of them. 

Cherise added two sugar cubes and stirred her drink until it was just right before taking a sip. After finishing, she enjoyed the taste, and Jason couldn’t help but smile at how happy she looked. Once Cherise put her cup down, she started, “I saw that photo, the one that looks a lot like me.” Jason’s surprise grew. He didn’t expect her to be so calm sitting in front of him after that revelation. 

He let out a small laugh. “Surprising, isn’t it? To be honest, when first approached you, I had some plans because of that image. 

“I guess Morris told you that, sadly, we did the paternity test without your consent, and we kept it a secret from you. 

“But it turns out you don’t have any blood relation with the Muller family at all. My hopes were in vain!” 

Jason looked down, unable to meet Cherise’s gaze. 

Seeing his mood, Cherise replied, “Honestly, sometimes the outcome doesn’t matter that much.” 

Jason looked up and locked eyes with her. 

Cherise smiled sweetly. “Until the very end, you might get an unexpected surprise.”
