CChapter 345
“May I ask if you’re from Yasvissa? The question made Cherise use mid–step. Out of sight from Eugene, a subtle smile curved her lips. Turning slowly, she replied, “How did you know I’m from Yasvissa, Dr. Garela?”
Eugene shook his head, flashing a bright smile. “I didn’t. I was just asking casually”
Cherise’s eyes sparkled with a hint of mischief as she spoke agai “It seems Mr. Garcia must have mentioned something abo
ut Yasvissa to you. hasn’t he?”
Eugene, who appeared young and handsome, froze for a mome. He felt that Cherise certainly knew how to strike when the opportunity arose. She asked so suddenly that he wasn’t sure how to respond.
As a doctor, he couldn’t lie, but if he said yes, he might make things more complicated.
Cherise noticed his hesitation. She recalled how he had interacted with the elderly people earlier and thought that he seemed like a truly kind–hearted person. Therefore, she pressed on, “Mr. Garcia is still alive, right?”
This time, Eugene had no choice but to answer truthfully, considering the question was about a person’s life.
He nodded toward Cherise. “Yes, he’s still alive.”
Cherise raised an eyebrow, clearly satisfied with the answer. “Could you introduce me to him? I really am from Yasvissa, and I’m here only to ask Mr. Garcia about my grandmother’s past, something from decades ago.
Beyond that, I have no other business and won’t disturb him again.”
Eugene sighed, lowering his head as he fell into thought. He knew Carson had carried a knot in his heart for years, a knot tied to Yasvissa, and he couldn’t bear to see him suffer.
He knew Carson had lived so many years with this burden. And for some reason, looking at Cherise, Eugene felt that perhaps she was the one who could untangle that knot.
He sighed once more, saying, “Alright, come with me,”
Cherise flashed a grin. “Thank you so much!”
They stepped out of the clinic, and Eugene locked the door, hanging the “Temporarily Closed” sign. The three people still standing by the car straightened when they saw Cherise and Eugene walk out
Eugene turned to them and pointed. “Are they with you!” From the moment he laid eyes on Cherise, he knew there was more to her.
Cherise nodded in response. “Yes.”
“Great. Let’s take your car. Walking will take us over half an hour, and I’m afraid it’ll be too much of a hassle, Eugene said.
Cherise didn’t refuse because she was eager to meet Carson as soon as possible. “Alright, Hugh, get in. Let’s follow Dr. Garcia’s directions.”
Hugh, aware that Cherise had urgent matters to attend to, didn’t hesitate. “Got it! Dr. Garcia, please take the front seat.”
They went off, with Dr. Garcia leading the way.
Crow was the type of person who couldn’t keep his mouth shut. When he saw Eugene, he immediately started asking questions. “Are you Dr. Garcia?
“I was just standing outside your clinic, and I overheard a lot of people saying you don’t charge for consultations, not even

for the medicine. That’s so kind of you. How do you make a living?
Eugene, having finished giving directions, turned around to respond to Crow’s question. It’s alright. I still have some property back home, so I get rental income?
Crow noticed the somewhat unfriendly look from Cherise and quickly shrank back. “Oh, so you’re a landlord. Fine, never mind.” he added, then turned to Cherise and shut up.
After giving directions at the next intersection. Engene said to Cherise, “By the way, I haven’t asked what your name is Your probably still have more questions for me, don’t you?”
Cherise, sitting elegantly in the second row with one leg crossed over the other, smirked. “You can just call me Ms. Leach”
Eugene chuckled, thinking. This girl is quite interesting:
Cherise leaned forward slightly. “Could you tell me what your relationship with Mr. Garcia is?”
Eugene smiled, his tone turning a bit nostalgic. “He’s my mentor, and he taught me everything about medicine. He even took me in when I had nowhere else to go. If it weren’t for him, I would have been dead.
