In stark contrast to the scene outside, chaos seemed to rule inside the Hawkins residence. 

Servants were rushing in and out of Garrick’s room, as if dealing with something urgent. Indeed, something major had happened 

A few blood–curdling screams came from Garrick’s room. Gina was nervously pacing back and forth at the door, looking scared and flustered. 

Two figures hurried over. It was Rita and Yulia. They also wore serious expressions. The cries in the room continued, making everyone feel uneasy. 

Gina’s eyes sparkled with relief. She quickly approached. “Rita, Yulia, finally, you’re here. There’s not a single person at home who can handle this situation. The holiday isn’t even over, and something happened to Garrick. How are we going to cope like this?” 

Rita looked at her with a seemingly disapproving glance. “What’s going on? Why is Garrick suddenly unwell again? Wasn’t he doing well when he just came back from the hospital a few days ago?” 

Gina shook her head. “He was doing fine the day he returned, even on Christmas. But the next day, he said his hands and feet were a bit sore and he wanted to rest. He slept all the way through to the third day. 

“But when he woke up, his feet started itching and the pain was unbearable. He asked me to call a doctor. The doctor came over, examined him, and said there were black spots on the bottom of his feet. It looked like they were rotting. 

“It was terrifying. I had no choice but to call you. Dr. Lawrence is still inside, and we don’t know what’s going on. Garrick said his foot’s rotten spot grew and hurt more when he woke up.” 

Rita couldn’t help but knit her brows after hearing this, feeling truly uneasy. She turned to Yulia and said, “Yulia, go find Hannia now and tell her about her grandfather’s condition. No matter what, make sure you bring her back.” 

Knowing how serious the situation was, Yulia gave a firm nod and turned to walk to the door. 

Gina felt a wave of relief upon hearing Rita’s order for Yulia to fetch Hannia. Hannia wouldn’t budge for Gina, but she’d surely heed Yulia. Cina hoped to see her daughter today. 

Seeing Yulia leave, Rita immediately headed to Garrick’s room. Inside the room, Garrick was lying on a wooden bed. Two doctors in white coats stood by the bed, alongside a working medical machine. As soon as Rita came in and heard Garrick’s cries of pain, she hurried to the bedside. “Dr. Lawrence how is my brother?” 

Rita asked as she glanced at Garrick’s foot on the bed, shocked by what she saw. It was fair to say that his whole foot had turned black. She knew very well that this was a backlash, a consequence after someone dispelled the curse. 

“Rita, you’re here. Please try to find a way to save me. If nothing works, go ask Rayburn for help. He’s really good at medicine. I’m truly at my limit. The pain in my foot feels like it stabbing directly into my heart, 

“At my age. I’ve never suffered much, and now it feels worse than death itself. 

Seeing Carrick was in such a state, Rita felt so sorry for him. She choked up. “Don’t worry. I’ll do everything I can to make sure you’re okay. 

Johnson shook his head and leaned in toward Kita. “Mrs. Muller, could I have a word with you in private?” 

Rita nodded and followed Johnson outside. With a slightly serious expression, she said, “Go altead. Tell me what my brother should do next
