Rayburn was already irritated at the idea of visiting the Hawkins family.

Once she got in the car, she gripped the envelope tightly, glanced at it briefly, and said without expression, “Take me to the Hawkins family.” 

After hearing the instructions, the driver stepped on the gas and drove away from the foot of Azure Peak. 

At the Hawkins residence, Garrick had finally fallen asleep. 

Just thirty minutes earlier, he had been writhing in pain, complaining of a searing, bone–deep ache, describing it as if thousands of ants were gnawing at the soles of his feet.

Rita made a soft “Hmm” sound, then looked over at the envelope on the table. “Yulia, can you open that and see what’s inside?” 

Yulia glanced at the table, picked up the envelope, and opened it 

Inside was a single sheet of paper, aged and yellowed with time 

Yulia slowly pulled it out. 

As she unfolded it and read, her eyes widened in shock, and she good frozen. 

“What is it?” Gina asked, standing up and moving closer. 

When she saw the title on the paper, her eyes went wide just like Yulia’s. “A divorce application. 

“Rayburn and Rita. 

“This is the divorce application of Rayburn and Rita. 

“This paper looks so old. It can’t be real, can it? Or some kind of joke?
