After a few minutes, when the other side picked up the phone, he said, “Hey, Cherise, it’s Jason speaking.” 

“It’s me,” said Morris, who answered the call. “She’s asleep. It’s so late. What’s up?” 

Rita moved quickly and soon had Rayburn at the entrance of the Chivers Residence, halfway up Azure Peak. 

Thanks to Jason’s call, Cherise and Morris were already sitting at the doorway, waiting. 

The two looked quite relaxed. Morris held a cup of coffee, occasionally offering it to Cherise. “Cherise, take a sip. I woke you up so late; you might feel tired later.” 

Cherise obediently took a slow sip. 

Rayburn was dragged along by Rita, looking just as slumped as before, limp and weak. 

But the moment he saw Cherise, he began to struggle, his eyes full of guilt and concern.

“You’ve brought all this upon yourself. You’ve always been a selfish, self–centered, and arrogant old woman. 

“And you didn’t just ruin yourself, but your brother and your granddaughter too. 

“I was planning to slowly make you suffer, but since you came to me, let’s settle all your wrongs here and now.” 

“Great! You’re arrogant enough,” Rita sneered, ignoring Rayburn who lay slumped on the floor.
