When Lydia heard this, her face tightened, and she looked at Truman with disbelief and a twisted expression. “Didn’t you say you didn’t believe in marriage or relationships? Why did you have a girlfriend? Are you lying to me?” 

Truman’s mouth twitched twice in response, cursing himself internally for speaking too much carlier. “No, that’s not what I 

meant. 

“I said I don’t believe in marriage or dating, not that I don’t love love my girlfriend. I’m planning to spend my whole life with her. Now, take care. Bye.” 

Lydia wouldn’t back down. She finally returned from Hesperia with Stella. 

To further her education, Lydia had chosen a business management course there, one that her entire family had opposed, just to match Lydia’s major. She wasn’t about to let it go. 

Lydia spread her arms and blocked Truman’s path. “I don’t believe you. Not unless I see her with my own eyes. I’ll wait here for you every day until you agree to show me.” 

After saying this, Lydia stomped her foot and stormed out of Ebb & Flow. 

Truman watched her leave, sighing. “Is she crazy? What’s going on here? I’m just too good–looking for my own good, huh? I attract all sorts of attention.” 

He turned to head to the bar but stopped midway. “Wait a minute… something feels off. I should have Leo look into this 

woman. 

“What if she’s some obsessive fan or something? That would be a real hassle. After all, I’m somewhat of a public figure.” 

He quickly sent Leo the car plate number and screenshots of the woman from the security footage.

Less than half an hour later, Leo’s reply came through. 

Truman read it aloud, “Lydia from the Walton family, Tristan’s daughter. I feel like I’ve met her before.” 

Truman bit his finger, confused. “Wait, no… Jagger and Grandpa are friends… Maybe I’ve seen her before. But forget it. I’ll ignore it for now. She probably just showed up on a whim. Maybe she won’t even come back.”

Monday was the start of another workweek. 

With only two days remaining until the Global Medical Association’s traditional and modern medicine skills competition on Wednesday, Hank was focused on preparing. Aside from occasionally visiting Betrico Hospital to check on Clara, he spent most of his time in intense study. 

When Hank entered the classroom building, he was reading a medical book. 

However, halfway to his destination, Jean stopped him. 

Hank, focused on his book, didn’t notice anyone in his path until he suddenly stopped, his head snapping up in alert. 

Immediately, his alertness faded, and he looked a bit dazed. “Oh, it’s you, Jean. What’s going on?” 

Jean stood with her hands behind her back, inspecting Hank closely.

The next moment, Jean pulled a bag from behind her. “Here, this is for the kids at the orphanage. I got them some things. Please take it back with you after class. 

“I didn’t buy much, just some nutritious snacks that are good for kids. The kids there are so thin, and they need to build up some strength.” 

As soon as Hank heard that, he flashed a big grin, looking as though a weight had been lifted off his shoulders. “Ah, so that’s what this is for…” 

He paused before continuing, “Jean, you’re too kind. On behalf of all the kids at the orphanage, thank you.” 

Hank politely took the bag Jean handed him, and when he opened it, he saw that it was filled with healthy snacks for children. 

Jean smiled and patted his shoulder. “You sure know how to flatter someone. All right, go ahead and hit the books. Show us what you’ve got. Don’t let Cherise down.”
