Chapter 566

The midsummer night in Betrico carried on the faint hustle and bustle of the day.

Scattered couples lingered on the streets, reluctant to part. Bars, clubs, and various entertainment venues showed no signs of winding down.

A woman, covered in blood from head to toe, wandered aimlessly through the night streets.

From a distance, though she was riddled with wounds, a faint, arrogant smile hung on her lips, far prouder than anyone else’s,

The bloodstains on her body did nothing to make her look pitiful. Instead, they only made her seem more composed- more fearless.

Pedestrians, in small groups, shrank back in terror when they saw her, keeping their distance as if afraid they might cross paths with a deranged lunatic in the dead of night.

Her sharp high heels clicked against the pavement in a practiced, effortless rhythm. Silent tears slid down her cheeks, one after another. She walked quickly, her destination unknown to anyone.

Finally, at the far end of the street, she came to a stop. The place at the end of the street was none other than Ebb & Flow

And the woman standing at the entrance–was Lydia, who had walked all the way from the Walton family’s forest villa.

Now, she stood tall at Ebb & Flow’s doorway, covered in whip marks and blood, staring straight inside.

Perhaps it was her shocking appearance or the sheer eeriness of it all, but the staff at the entrance of Ebb & Flow recoiled in fear, immediately retreating inside to report what they had seen.

As it happened, Truman was there that night. Upon hearing the employees‘ report, he rushed out anxiously, worried that something was going wrong again.

The moment he stepped outside and saw Lydia, he was just as startled as his staff.

In disbelief, he blurted out, “Good God, are you Lydia Walton? You look terrifying. What the hell are you doing here all of a sudden?”

“And what happened to you? Why are you covered in so many wounds? Hey, don’t come any closer!” Truman shouted as Lydia took a step toward him.

At his shout, Lydia halted. She stood there silently, watching him.

Truman found her gaze unsettling and couldn’t help but suck in a sharp breath.

His impression of Lydia was extremely poor. He thought she was ruthless and impossible to read, like a ticking time bomb.

But he wasn’t the type of man who would turn a blind eye to someone in need, completely devoid of conscience.

Lydia, noticing his hesitation, smiled and said, “Truman, let me ask you one question, just one. Answer me, and I’ll leave. I won’t disrupt your business any further.”
