The news of Claire’s successful surgery quickly reached Arthur’s ears, and like Cherise and the others, he visibly relaxed. At this moment, he had just finished an important international meeting, attended by many of Clusia’s top figures, including Tristan.

As the meeting concluded, Tristan called out softly from behind, “Arthur, wait a moment!”

“Since we both came into office at the same time, I thought I’d ask you directly. Are you planning to run for re–election or not? I need to know for my own reference.”

Arthur laughed heartily at Tristan’s words. “I knew you’d ask.

“What thoughts could I possibly have? If the country and the people need me, I’ll stay. If not, I’ll step aside. It’s as simple as that.”
