Chapter 110 

Hailey was in love with Anderson. This was the deepest secret Hailey kept in her heart until Mayra heard it one fateful night. 

Hailey had brought the drunken Anderson home after a party. In a dark room with the lights switched off, she carefully uttered the words of 

adoration that she never dared to say. 

Her crisp, clear voice echoed in the dark night, “I love you, Anderson.” 

However, what happened to her in the end was unknown to Mayra. Even after Mayra was sent abroad, Hailey never appeared again. Whenever Mayra brought this up, Anderson wouldn’t tell her anything. 

Belchester High School was a private high school and the nearest one to the University of Belchester. Just like Everton Corporation, it was located in the busiest city center of Belchester. 

Mayra was on her bed. Her injuries had healed after days of rest, except for the scars on her legs. Every morning, Anderson would apply the cream on her legs. 

Initially, she resisted it, but later, it became a habit for Anderson to apply the cream on her. 

Mayra lay in the bed with her eyes closed. She was half asleep, and 

Anderson was still in his pajamas as he sat at the foot of the bed while applying the cream on her. 

“Julie said that you haven’t been applying the cream in the past few days. You have to apply the cream consistently to remove the scars on your legs, 

he said. 

Mayra’s eyes remained closed. She didn’t want to say a word because she was sleepy. 

“Hello, Ms. Hailey,” a maid greeted.

Feigning confusion, Mayra turned to Anderson and asked, “Andy, who is she? I’ve never seen her before.” 

After applying the cream on her, Anderson slipped on a pair of thin socks for her. “She’s Hailey Barlow, my assistant.” 

Hailey nodded. She felt inexplicably nervous and tightened her grip on the bag she was holding. “Ms. Sadler, this is my name card. You can call me if you run into any problems.” Her voice was just like her person–aloof. 

Mayra accepted her name card. “Andy, Hailey is just as pretty as Isa.” 

Hailey shared the same fate as Mayra; both of them were adopted. The only difference was that Hailey was formally adopted while Anderson merely kept Mayra by his side. 

In her previous life, Hailey lived humbly. She was kind, and Mayra had received help from her many times. 

If she weren’t Renee’s adopted daughter, she was the second lady besides Isabel whom Mayra thought was compatible and good enough for Anderson.
