Mayra nodded thoughtfully. “Okay.” 

“Mayra, do you want to join me?” 

Mayra was startled. She didn’t understand why Anderson would suddenly want her to go with him. She declined, saying, “No, I still have classes.” 

It seemed Anderson had made arrangements before returning. The maids had just placed freshly cooked dishes on the table and set two sets of cutlery. 

Anderson took off his suit jacket, which a maid hung on the coat rack. His dark red vest, with a silver chain clasp at the chest, matched his composed and restrained demeanor. He appeared noble and unattainable. 

“I remember tomorrow is the weekend.” 

Mayra put down her schoolbag and sat on the chair next to him. “Yes.” 

Shane went upstairs, presumably to pack Anderson’s luggage. 

Anderson served her a bowl of oatmeal. “Are you still in pain? Do you want to go to the hospital for a check–up?” 

Mayra shook her head. “No need. I still have to go back to school for classes.” 

Anderson put some food onto her plate. “I can help you apply for leave. 

“The macarons in Candor City are good. Do you want to try them?” 

Anderson’s deep voice was like a big bad wolf coaxing a little pig. 

“Andy, you know I get car sick. I’d rather not go. How about you bring some back for me? I also want to try the strawberry cake from Candor City, 

and… I’ll message you if I think of anything else.” 

Anderson chuckled. “Okay.” 

Mayra was still full from eating two portions of tacos last night. She 

realized that she might have overenten 

She noticed Anderson ate very little, and the dishes on the table were all light and stomach–friendly, which suited her tastes, 

As she ate, she suddenly remembered the incident from the other day. If Anderson was leaving Belchester for a business trip, what about Isabel? 

Was Anderson not going to resolve their misunderstanding? 

“Andy, isn’t Isa going with you?” 

Anderson replied, “No, she’s not going. 

Why was she not going? 

Whenever Anderson went on business trips, Isabel would always accompany him. They were always the center of attention at banquets. 

“Andy, shouldn’t you make up with Isa? Even if there’s a misunderstanding from the last time, Isa is still your fiancée. She’ll be very hurt if you keep treating her coldly.”
