It sounded like a joke, but Mayra felt he was capable of such things. 

She was feeling really uncomfortable now and didn’t want to argue about these things anymore. She had a weak constitution, so she would have icy hands and feet in winter, unlike Anderson, whose body would 

be as warm as a furnace. 

“Why did you help Hailey today?” Anderson suddenly asked. His movements were silent, but the pain Mayra experienced seemed to lessen. 

“Are you angry?” 

“By defending Hailey, you’ve offended many, including the Fisher family!” 

Anderson’s deep gaze bore into her, but she focused on the ceiling. “From an outsider’s perspective, it’s obvious that you’re targeting Hailey. She didn’t do anything wrong, did she? It was your mistake, not Hailey’s. It’s natural for Isa to be jealous and angry after such an incident.

She said, “I saw what happened today, and I couldn’t just stand by. You really angered Isa this time. I heard from Caroline that she almost died. Andy, don’t you care about Isa at all? Or do you just want to retaliate against Hailey and make her suffer? 

“By doing this, you’re hurting two people at the same time. Won’t you regret it?” 

Anderson’s expression suddenly turned cold, and he got off the bed. “Mayra, let me teach you one more thing. There are things you shouldn’t meddle with, got it?” 

As he uttered the last word, Mayra knew she had hit the mark, hence Anderson’s temper. 

Seeing the momentary hostility in his eyes, she felt a little scared. Her voice immediately softened. “Got it. I won’t meddle in other people’s affairs anymore.” 

“Rest well. I’ll take you out again tomorrow.”
