The man withdrew his hand from Serena’s lap. His lewd smile disappeared as he began to sit properly. 

Serena felt quite pleased with the crystal pendant in the jewelry box. The necklace chain was strung with tiny opal beads using a red string. 

“Daddy, do I look pretty?” 

“Yeah.” The man took out a cigarette with an unfathomable gaze. 

The crystal pendant was expensive. It cost almost ten grand. Both the quality and color were top–notch. 

“Ms. Sadler, what are you looking at?” 

Only then did Mayra react and shake her head. “Nothing, let’s go back.” 

Mayra got into a car, which was a mid–range vehicle that cost around 400 grand. It was a private car Anderson had specifically arranged to take her to school. The price of the vehicles in Anderson’s garage ranged from millions to tens of millions of dollars. He had to send a few away to make room. 

In Anderson’s eyes, this car was nothing more than a piece of junk. 

Upon arriving at the Barlow mansion, Mayra didn’t rush to get off. Instead, she waited for a while. 

She sat in the car for nearly half an hour before leaving. 

As she walked toward the front door, the maid happened to have 

just ended a call. “Ms. Sadler…” 

However, Mayra ran upstairs as if she was escaping the situation. 

Julia, who had falsely accused her last time, was transferred to the Barlow Estate for reflection. The remaining maids were all Julia’s 

people. 

One of them was picking vegetables in the kitchen. As soon as Mayra was gone, she said indignantly, “Does she really see herself as the heiress of the Barlow family? If Mr. Anderson hadn’t brought her back, she would’ve starved long ago as an orphan. How dare 

she show attitude to him now!” 

“Enough, be quiet! Mr. Anderson values her greatly. He didn’t fire us from the previous incident because we’ve served the Barlow family for so long. If she complains to Mr. Anderson, we wouldn’t just be receiving a pay cut. What if he targets you… You should consider your family!” 

The maids who once looked down upon Mayra dared not say 

anything more. 

After returning to her room, Mayra heard a knock on the door. “Ms. Sadler, Mr. Anderson cares about you…” 

Mayra covered her ears and squatted in a corner. 

In her past life, she wished she could spend the whole day by Anderson’s side. She even eagerly awaited every single one of his phone calls. But in this life, Anderson felt like a curse to her. 

She knew that he would marry Isabel for the sake of the Barlow family in the end. She had suffered enough mockery and torment in her past life.
