Chapter 94 

A man got out of the car and walked into the foyer. Seeing that Anderson. was back, Julia came out of the kitchen. “Mr. Anderson.”

She took his coat draped over his arm and hung it on the coat rack.

“Where’s Mayra?”

“She’s still asleep upstairs. By the way, Ms. Fisher just came by.”

“Oh.” After a simple acknowledgment, Anderson went upstairs.

Watching his back as he ascended, Julia couldn’t help but ponder. Anderson’s attitude was extremely cold when she mentioned Isabel just now. It was as though he didn’t care at all. But at a time like this, he shouldn’t be neglecting Isabel.

Julia couldn’t help thinking that Mayra wasn’t someone to be

underestimated. If she really was as cunning as Sonia mentioned, Isabel wouldn’t stand a chance against her.

Upon reaching the master bedroom and finding it empty, Anderson frowned in displeasure.

He opened the door to the adjacent guest room and saw Mayra lying. listlessly on her stomach on the window seat. Her hand, holding a half- eaten biscuit, was hanging by her side. Only then did his expression soften.

Anderson thought she was asleep, but she lifted her hand and continued eating the biscuit.

He smiled at the scene before approaching.

Hearing the faint sound of movement on the floor, Mayra opened her eyes. A pair of polished black shoes came into view.

She lifted her gaze and saw Anderson seated beside her, gesturing to her to rest her head on his lap. Mayra adjusted herself into a comfortable position.

“How long have you been eating this biscuit? Food is ready downstairs. Do you want me to carry you down?”

While lying on his lap, Mayra looked at his smooth

looked handsome even from this angle.

“Andy, have I been causing you trouble these days?” 

Anderson looked down at her. “This isn’t your fault. There’s no need to feel guilty. Anyway, I’ve taken care of everything. It was my fault. I should’ve trusted you.”

Anderson chuckled softly. “No one dares to laugh at my little sister.”

That was true. If anyone knew that Mayra was the sister Anderson had raised, they’d be falling over themselves to flatter her.

Mayra knelt on the window seat and shook her head. “No, they can’t know that I’m your sister.” She made an “X” over her chest.

Pressing his lips together, Anderson nodded. “Do 1 embarrass you that much?”

“No, it’s not that. I just don’t want to attract too much attention. You know as well that I don’t like to interact with the people at school. I think things are fine as they are.”

“Oh? What about Gordon? I heard you say that you like him the most.”

“He’s different from you.”

“In what way?” Anderson asked.
