The next day, I was surprised by the arrival of a group of unexpected visitors in my small courtyard. 

As I was sorting through some old items in the yard, I suddenly heard a voice call out my name. I turned to look and met Lyla’s tear–filled eyes. 

She quickly walked over, opened her arms, and embraced me tightly. Her voice was choked with emotion as she said, “Eve, you left without telling us! You scared me to death!” 

Antoine followed closely behind Lyla, looking at me with a smile on his face.
