After leaving the Wiley residence, I got into the car with Lians and left. 

Once I got in, I heard Liam say teasingly, “Evelyn, you prepared very thoroughly for this. You even had a POS machine! You don’t happen to have a cash counting machine in your bag too, do you? Come on, let me see.” 

He stretched out his large hand in front of me, and I smacked his palm “How could I have a cash counting machine with me?” I asked disdainfully. 

Besides, it was impossible that Ivy would have brought 20 million in cash to me. Liam could be so silly sometimes, 

“Here.” I let go and revealed the bank card in my hand. 

Liam’s eyes lit up. He held the bank card by a comer and said in surprise, “Isn’t this the 20 million that Ivy gave you?” 

“Yes. I’m giving it to you to use as an emergency tund for the company.” 

“Are you really going to that generous?” Liam taised an eyebrow 

I answered, “Yes. I can’t help much with the company aside from monetary assistance. By the way, remember to prepare well for meeting Mr. Mitchell tomorrow.” I looked pointedly at Liam. He was the person in charge of the project, and at most, I could be seen as a stepping stone. If he didn’t go, we wouldn’t be able to progress with the project 

At the mention of official business, Liam’s expression grew serious. He put the card away and said, “Don’t worry. I’ve already prepared the materials.” The next day, Liam and I arrived punctually at the hotel where Mr. Mitchell was staying 

The assistant was already waiting for us at the reception in the lobby. When he saw us come in, he approached us. “Mr. Tyler, Ms. Wiley. Mr. Mitchell is waiting. Please come with me.”

When we arrived at Mt. Mitchell’s room, he was sitting beside the window, playing chess on his own. Upon hearing us enter, he gave us a sideway glance. 

I didn I know whether I was mistaken or not, but he had been smiling when he saw me. However, as soon as Liam walked in from behind me, his smile faded. He was even frowning 

I maintained an impassive demeanor as I said, “Good morning, Mr. Mitchell,” 

I walked up to him.

Liam greeted him, and Mr. Mitchell’s tone became stem at once. I raised an eyebrow and wondered if Liam had somehow offended Mr. Mitchell in the past. I didn’t remember anything from my last lite about a grudge between them.
