Outside the ward, the doctor was explaining something to Ethan's assistants.

I quickly walked out, unable to contain my impatience. "Doctor, how is Ethan? When will he wake up?"

The doctor shook his head, looking troubled. "Mr. Grayson's injuries are severe—he has internal bleeding in his brain and has been in a coma for seven days.

"While his life has been saved for now, when he will wake up depends on his willpower. If he doesn't wake up in three days, the consequences could be dire."

My heart sank again.

Ethan must wake up!

Without him, how could I go on?

I slumped down onto a bench, tears streaming uncontrollably.

This was all my fault. If I hadn't forced him to let go, if I hadn't run away to another country, how could he have been so worn out? How could he have lost the will to live?

"Ms. Wiley, stop crying. Mr. Grayson's situation isn't your fault. He's the one who didn't cherish you, and that's what led to this," one of his assistants said.

Another chimed in, "But he truly loves you. We've all seen it."

"You're right," I choked out. "But it's all too late…"

"No, it's not too late!" Julia suddenly grabbed my hand."Evelyn, try heart-to-heart communication!"

"What?" I was confused.

"It's when you call his soul through your heart," she said earnestly. "The bond between you two is so strong, you can surely sense each other. As long as you call to him in your heart, he'll hear you. He'll wake up!"

Over and over, I whispered his name in my heart, pouring out my regret and longing.

Tears silently fell, wetting his pale face.

I would die without Ethan if he didn't wake up. In this life, I never wanted to be apart from him again.

Just then, a miracle happened. Ethan's fingers twitched slightly!

"Evelyn, can you feel it? It's me, Ethan!"

His weak voice echoed in my mind, and I opened my eyes in surprise, my vision blurry with tears.
