Chapter 974 Don’t Catch a Cold

The car was parked right in front of the hospital entrance. It was just a couple of steps away.

Nicole thought nothing about the distance. Instead, she suggested, "Let's get going. I'll feel much better after going back and taking a shower."

After that, she attempted to rush to the car. However, Colton grabbed her arm and accused in a low voice, "Are you out of your mind?"

Nicole turned her head in his direction, confusion written all over her face.

"I'll bring the car around. Stay here," Colton muttered. Then, he removed his suit jacket and put it on her body.

Warmth suddenly replaced the coldness that had originally enveloped her body.

It was November and the weather always turned cooler around this time of year, but not completely freezing. People always wear long-sleeved shirts to keep warm whenever they headed outdoors. However, the sudden change in weather today was unexpected. The rain was pouring and even the air was chilly.

Nicole was already feeling cold when Colton and she left the house earlier, but she didn't bother to say anything.

However, Colton was observant enough to notice her discomfort.

She wondered if it had something to do with her pregnancy as she kept imagining things lately.

Colton rushed into the rain. He ran fast, making it to his destination within a few moments. However, he was soaking wet due to the heavy rain.

He only wore a white button-down aside from the suit jacket. The rain drenched the silk shirt, and it clung to Colton's body like a second skin, setting off his toned physique.

Colton turned the car around and stopped in front of Nicole.

Nicole opened the door and entered the car where the vehicle's heater welcomed her. Tilting her head to the side, she shifted her gaze to Colton's face.

He looked like a drowned rat. His dark and rain-drenched hair stuck to his forehead. Raindrops trickled down his hair, causing the strands to become a disheveled mess.

Nicole lifted her half-closed eyes and glanced at him. "Don't worry about me," she mumbled in a weak voice. "You need a shower, or else you'll catch a cold."

Colton reached out his hand and touched her forehead with the back of his hand. A surge of relief ran through him once he made sure she didn't have a fever. Watching her pale face, he began in a low voice, "I'll make you a meal. You haven't eaten anything since morning. It's not good for your stomach."

Nicole shook her head. Even though she was hungry, she didn't have an appetite at all.

"I don't want to eat anything. By the way, you should get changed. I'm taking a nap first." Lying on the couch, Nicole forced the words out of her mouth.

Colton cast a glance at her before looking down at his soaked clothes.

I can't carry her upstairs in my wet clothes. She might get a cold from me. Thus, Colton had no choice but to prepare some chowder in the kitchen before heading upstairs for a shower.

After he went upstairs, Nicole adjusted herself on the couch. Fortunately, there was enough space on the couch for her to sleep in any position she pleased.

I wasn't expecting this pregnancy to be so terrible. I don't just suffer from morning sickness. I'm also feeling weak to the degree that I don't feel comfortable
