The smug so-called moral judges panicked the moment the police arrived.

However, a few of the more vocal ones still puffed up with arrogance, shouting, "Don’t be afraid! We’re standing for justice, upholding moral decency. We’ve done nothing wrong."

"Exactly! We’re just getting justice for the victim—how could that be a crime? The people in our live stream are all backing us up!"

Emboldened by these words, the rest of the gang regained their confidence, standing tall as if they were the embodiment of righteousness.

The police glanced around the chaotic, trashed living room and then saw me, tied to a chair and covered in blood.

One officer immediately frowned and came over to untie me.

"In broad daylight, causing a disturbance, committing kidnapping, and inflicting intentional harm—this is your idea of justice?"

With that, the officers began taking photos and collecting evidence.

"Officers," I said, "my greatest passion has always been collecting antiques and artwork. Many of the items destroyed here are rare, priceless pieces. I can’t give you an exact figure, but the damage is easily in the hundreds of millions. You should have experts appraise it thoroughly."

"I won’t accept any mediation—only full compensation from each of them!"

"And I want a forensic examination to assess the extent of my injuries. They need to be held accountable for what they’ve done!"

Hearing my words, the officers’ expressions grew even more serious.

A case involving disfigurement and damages of this magnitude was no small matter—this was a major crime.

"You think you can throw your weight around? All of this belongs to my boyfriend. I’m smashing my man’s stuff—why should I pay you anything? Who do you think you are?" Cassie sneered, her arrogance unwavering, even in front of the police.

"And you think you can make me pay? My boyfriend is the son of the richest man in the country, and I’m going to be a high-society wife. Let’s see who dares to touch me!"

Cassie’s defiance emboldened the live streamers, who quickly chimed in:

"That’s right! All this stuff belongs to Miss Morris’s boyfriend. We were just helping her clear out the trash—we’ve done nothing wrong!"

"Officers, if you’ve got any issues, take it up with Miss Morris’s boyfriend. He’ll back us up."

The police officer’s eyes flashed with anger as he glared at them. "You think you’re justified after injuring someone like this?!"

He then turned to Cassie and asked sternly, "You claim all these items belong to your boyfriend. Do you have any proof?"

"You want proof? I’ll call him right now, and you’ll see."
