Eileen sat there like a statue and looked at Mark, she was obviously in a terrible mood.

She wanted to speak up but was unable to soften up her grumpy look. After all, it was Logan’s fault that the company was in such a state. The thought of Logan’s poor management frustrated her.

How could she possibly hand the company to Logan in the future?

Looking at her, Mark grinned coldly. If she knew this would happen, she might not have done what she did.

A person had to learn to pay for his or her own actions. One’s greed was endless!

Justin looked at him. “Cut the nonsense, hurry up and think of the way to solve the problem!”

“Father, I’m sorry but it’s out of my reach,” Mark said, feigning a helpless look.

“YOU!”

“Mark! Don’t you forget you are also a part of this family! If the Pattisons face bankruptcy, you won’t get away with it either!” Eileen bellowed. She really had no idea what Mark was trying to do.

Was he trying to push the family to bankruptcy?

Mark smiled, his calm tone somehow had a hint of arrogance. “I believe even if the family goes bankrupt, I won’t starve to death either.”

“YOU! Are you really going to let the family die like this?!” Eileen looked at him in disbelief.

‘I didn’t say anything, it’s your assumption.”

“YOU LITTLE!” Eileen realized she had nothing on Mark at all.

She could not do anything to him either because Mark was a capable and smart man, it could not be helped.

Then, she looked at Justin and said, “So this is your filial good son?!”

Justin looked at Mark sternly. Even he did not know what Mark was planning, let alone Eileen. However, one thing was for sure: Mark was a man with ambitions.

“What are you thinking?”

“It’s simple actually. Since M.K. is in Logan’s hands, he should deal with it. Didn’t the two of you wish for him to take over the company? He can use this chance to properly train himself, isn’t it a win-win situation?” Mark said.

He had to say that he felt great. He liked to see the helplessness on Justin and Eileen’s face yet being forced to lower their heads at him, it was intoxicating.

For many years he had lived under their shadow, now it was his turn to fight back.

Mark sat down on the couch with his legs crossed. He looked happy, he made it sound like he had no interest in M.K. at all.

Had it not been many years since Mark took over M.K., he could have given up M.K. completely, started a new company, and in two years’ time, he could very well surpass M.K. entirely.

Unfortunately, M.K. was not just his sweat and blood, it was the perfect tool at the moment for him to get back at Eileen.

As long as M.K. was in his hands, Eileen would have to bow to him.

Mark looked even happier and relaxed at the thought of it.

It was then Aunt Jessica came over with a cup of tea.

“Thank you, Aunt Jessica,” Mark said with a respectful smile. He had never shown such respect to either Justin or Eileen.

Aunt Jessica giggled and whispered in his ears. Mark was slightly surprised before he nodded, Aunt Jessica then left.

Mark sat there sipping his tea, looking as relaxed as he could. Be it M.K. or the reporters that swarmed the Pattisons’ house outside, everything had gone out of control.

The company was facing a crisis, it could not afford another criticism or attack. The slightest news would push M.K. over the line of bankruptcy.

While many were worried, Mark was more relaxed than ever.

Justin was infuriated by the arrogance. “What if I want you to step in to solve the problem?”

Mark smiled at him. “Then what if I can’t solve the problem?”

Justin was shocked by what he heard.

Mark had what it took to save the situation but if Justin pushed him too much, he could do a perfunctory job and let everything plunge to hell.

Frustrated, Justin bellowed, “Do you really think you are the only one who can turn things around? Let me tell you this, when I was working my ass off building the company, you were still a nobody!”

“Of course I believe you father, I believe you will overcome the problem,” Mark said with a smile.

“Hmph!”

“If that’s your decision, I’ll be in my room.” Mark then put the cup of tea down and walked away.

Justin was so frustrated that he almost flipped the tea table, even Eileen was having a difficult time dealing with Mark’s arrogance.

“Justin, what now?” Eileen asked.

“It’s all your fault! You knew that useless Logan cannot handle all this, yet you made him take over the company! You really think the company is his playtoy?!” Justin bellowed.

Eileen was shocked. “Logan is my son and also yours! He’s not that capable but he is obedient! Look at Mark, he might be capable but do you think you can control him now?”

This time around, Justin was shocked.

She was right. It was why Justin had always been unwilling yet was forced to accept Mark.

He was unwilling to step away from M.K. and he was constantly worried about Mark slipping out of control.

Justin looked gloomy and he wanted to end the conversation. “I have to go make some calls. You call Logan to get back here right now!”

He then left and strode to the study room upstairs.

Eileen was left on the couch with her beautiful yet gloomy face.

......

Mark did not go back to his room, instead, he went looking for Aunt Jessica.

Aunt Jessica was busy doing chores in the kitchen.

Mark went in and said, “Yes Aunt Jessica, is there anything that you need me for?”

The moment Mark came in, Aunt Jessica pulled him in and peeked outside the kitchen for a moment before she said, “Mark, I have something to tell you!”

“What is it?” Mark was curious at Aunt Jessica’s mysterious look.

Aunt Jessica got closer to his ears and whispered. Mark’s brows were tightly furrowed when he heard it.

“Those old geezers!” Logan shouted loudly.

“So what if the company goes bankrupt? My father is rich!”

J was speechless when he saw the situation from the side. It was not surprising that someone like Logan could bring the company down in such a short period.

Then, J went up to Logan and said, “Mr. Pattison, a call from the house, your father wants you back.”

Logan was unhappy but he could not do anything about it. “I got it.”

The car came around and picked Logan up.

Logan remained furious along the way, he did not know how to tell his parents about the mess he made.

When the car arrived at the house’s entrance, the swarm of reporters made him even angrier.

“Mr. Pattison, can you tell us what’s going on?”

“Is it because of your mistake that M.K. is in a crisis?”

“Will M.K. go bankrupt because of you?”

“What do you have to say for yourself?”

“Mr. Pattison, a word please!”

Logan almost got out of the car and punched the reporters who asked him questions.

“One more piece of bullsh*t and I’ll sue your company until it goes bankrupt!” Logan shouted.

The driver quickly drove into the house to avoid further confrontation.

Back in the house, Justin just hung up the phone and he looked sour when he heard the noise outside.

He came down and saw Logan scolding those reporters on his way in.

“Just you wait, I’ll sue your company until it goes bankrupt!”

Justin almost passed out when he heard what his son said.

“You idiot! You are already stupid enough, why are you arguing with the reporters?! Do you know what the media will say at tomorrow’s conference?!” Justin shouted at him.

It was rare for Justin to be this angry and even if he did, it was not at Logan.

Logan was stunned on the spot.

“Dad...”

“Shut up!”

Logan turned from an arrogant, mindless young man to a boy who was scolded by his father in just minutes.

Mark also witnessed the scene from beside. He curled his lips into a grin.

“Useless garbage, incompetent to achieve anything but good in ruining things.”
