“What is it?” Lyla asked Mark.

Mark reached out to Lyla and hugged her closer.

“You…”

“Don’t move, I just want to hug you.” He then hugged her in his arms tightly and enjoyed the scent from her body.

The hug lasted for quite some time before Lyla said, “That’s enough for now, let me go home and take a bath.”

“It’s fine. I don’t mind. Let me hug you for a little longer.”

Lyla found it strangely amusing. “It’s only been two days and you’ve become a clingy person.”

Mark kissed her hair and said, “Don’t you know that time passes slower without you beside me? It might have been two days for you but it’s a century for me.”

“You’re making it up.”

“I’m not!” Mark grabbed her hand and put it on his chest.

“This will prove my thoughts for you, they are all real.”

Mark had grabbed her hands many times now. Even though Lyla had not truly gotten used to it, she was not as nervous as before but she still felt shy.

She tried to take her hand off him but Mark held her tightly.

“Mark, we are in the car!”

“It’s fine, no one can see us from the outside.”

‘Is he trying to do something to me in the car?’ Before she could get an answer to her question, Mark made his move.

He stroked her hair with one of his hands and kissed her strongly.

Lyla instinctively wanted to break free but Mark was prepared for this, he was able to hold Lyla in his arms.

She then whispered something in his ears and Mark froze after hearing it.

He stared at her in disbelief and said, “For real?”

Lyla nodded. “For real.”

Mark smiled. The happiness in him was indescribable.

The happier Mark was the redder Lyla’s face.

Lyla smiled happily. “Mhm-hmm.”

She leaned on Mark’s shoulder and muttered to herself softly, “Actually having a man is not that bad, at least I don’t have to do everything myself.”

Then, she noticed a concerned look on Mark. “What’s wrong? Something happened?”

Mark looked at her. “Lyla, believe me. I will never let you suffer again for the rest of your life and I will never let you go through all that again.”

He was actually blaming himself for Lyla’s arrest.

Lyla smiled. “I did it voluntarily. Besides, you told the officers to take care of me, so I actually had a great time sleeping and eating inside, just a little boring you know. You don’t have to blame yourself for that.”

Mark hugged her tightly and whispered to her ears. “From now on, my life is your life as well.”

Lyla’s heart skipped a beat.

It sounded strange but right. Mark was a proud man and he would never allow a woman, especially a woman that he loved, to take his place to endure all those suffering.

He was touched but he also blamed himself.

However, to Lyla, she did it out of her own will.
