For some reason, after she heard the news, her heart trembled for a moment. She was a mother as well, so she naturally understood just how important familial ties were.

But this was a common tactic used in the business world.

Lyla looked at him, and her gaze was slightly complicated, but there was also admiration in them. “How certain are you that Mars will agree to it?”

“I’ve already succeeded, haven't I?” Mark Pattinson spoke as confidently as he usually did.

Lyla looked at him. She had to admit, he had his methods, and he lived to his current status.

Lyla nodded. Then, she remembered something. “Then, Mr Pattinson, you used my copyrighted work. How are you going to settle the accounts for that?” Lyla looked at him and asked.

He had not expected her to seek compensation for that, so Mark Pattinson turned his head around to look at him. He smiled faintly. “How do you want it settled?”

Lyla smiled. “You handed my copyrighted work to someone else on your own, and I can’t get it back now. I’m not an unreasonable person. If that’s the case, I might as well sell it to you.” This project would definitely help Mark Pattinson earn quite a lot of money, and she should not be going overboard asking for a small share.

“How much do you want?” Mark Pattinson asked faintly.

Lyla thought about it and extended her palm. “I believe that you will not earn just a little money.”

Mark Pattinson nodded. “Does that price include you selling yourself to me?”

Lyla found herself speechless.

“Mr Pattinson, could you be a little more serious?”

“I’m being very serious!”

“But I’m already done with work.”

Lyla was speechless. Mark Pattinson drove his car and left with her.

Lyla wanted to go back, but Mark Pattinson refused to let her go. He insisted on only letting her go after they ate. Lyla could not refute, so she decided to just move along with his flow.

When she went back home, it was already a quarter past eight. Mark Pattinson drove to her residential area.

“Mr Pattinson, thank you for the dinner. Goodbye.” Once they arrived at her place, Lyla grabbed her handbag and tried to get out of the car.

But before she opened the car door, Mark Pattinson grabbed her and pushed her back on her seat.

“Why are you in such a hurry to leave?” Mark Pattinson looked at her and asked coldly.

Lyla looked at him. She first frowned before she put on a harmless smile. “I’m already at my house. Shouldn’t I leave?”

The moment he saw Lyla’s smile, Mark Pattinson became even angrier.

This woman always put up this harmless smile. When she faced him, she would always give this fake smile. But when she faced other people, she could smile happily, naturally, and beautifully!

Mark Pattinson found himself very displeased about it!
