Nydia’s group finally took the step. 

With Nelson’s solid theoretical foundation, their team quickly climbed up the charts to the top 

ten. 

Nydia didn’t lag behind either. Not only did she answer all her questions correctly, but she also identified unique points during the debate round and left her opponents speechless. 

Their team scored the top spot in the segment. Next, the top teams from each segment would compete for a place in the finals. 

When Mick arrived, he was an hour late. He entered just in time to witness this intense competition. 

Nydia and Nelson stood side by side wearing confident smiles. When the host asked questions, they would buzz in with remarkable coordination and answer correctly. 

When their answer was announced correctly, they’d high–five each other in celebration. 

The current Nydia was completely different from the timid woman she’d been with the Wilcher family. Her words were firm, and even the trickiest questions couldn’t stump her. She skillfully detected the problems and zeroed in on the key points to solve them. 

It seemed as if she wasn’t weighed down by the sorrow of an impending divorce at all. 

But why? Mick figured Nydia was the one who’d been so desperate to marry him and covet his wealth, yet now she left so decisively. It felt as if she played the entire Wilcher family for fools. 

Oblivious to Mick’s turmoil of emotions, Ted was baffled by the sight of Nydia on the stage. This version of her was unfamiliar to him. 

The past Nydia had always been ordinary. She’d just been someone who cooked, cleaned, and worked. But now, everyone applauded her and called her brilliant. 

It felt Nydia was glowing, and a surge of pride swelled within him. Whenever his friends at kindergarten asked about Nydia, he could tell him she was amazing even when performing on stage. 

“Dad, is Mom waving at us?” 

When the final scores were announced, Nydia turned to the audience with a bright confident smile and waved enthusiastically.
