Chapter 84 

“Do you really think they’d ever be interested in someone like you? 

“You’re nothing more than someone’s disposable plaything! 

“How can you have so little self–respect? Are you really that desperate for a man? That shameless?” 

He was hungover from the night before and hadn’t slept well, his brain a complete mess. He didn’t have the energy to think or hold his tongue. 

The moment the words left his mouth, he regretted them. Instinctively, he wanted to explain. He instinctively wanted to explain, but Nadia had already turned around, tears glistening in her eyes as she looked at him. 

He froze. The words he had wanted to say stuck in his throat. 

Nadia took slow, deliberate steps toward him. “When I married you, it was because I admired you after hearing your lecture at university. I fell in love with you. 

“When you were blind, no matter how you spoke to me, cruelly or spitefully, I didn’t mind. I was just happy to be by the side of the person I loved. 

“We were married for six years. I had your child, but I never really had your heart. Every day, I lived with your contempt and disdai 

“But… After all these years, I always thought you would at least understand me, even a little. Yet, I never imagined that I’d end up like this, leaving such a pathetic impression in your heart. 

Every word she spoke was like a sharp jab to his heart, making the pain almost unbearable. 

He hadn’t meant it like that. He was just speaking without thinking. But his pride and male ego wouldn’t allow him to apologize. 

“Mick, we’re done. The Wilcher family once helped me leave the mountains. I healed your eyes, so I think we’re even now.” 

She turned and walked toward Eddie. 

Mick tried to follow, but the bodyguards immediately held him back. After the beating from Nelson, he was too weak to struggle, and he could only watch helplessly as Nadia slowly disappeared from his sight. 

Across from the hospital, there was a small garden. The sound of a stream and the sight of a little rockery made it a peaceful retreat. 

Chapk 84 

Nadia had taken two hours off and sat by the creek, her eyes filled with sorrow. 

“Mr. Houle, I’m sorry. I must have embarrassed you.” 

The situation earlier had been so awkward and uncomfortable for her. She didn’t even know how to get away from it. 

Thankfully, Eddie had arrived like a savior and led her out of the chaos. 

“I owe you a favor. I’ll make sure to repay it.” 

Eddie paused for a moment before speaking slowly. “You’re not as bad as he makes you out to be.” 

Nadia blinked, surprised, and looked up at him. Eddie’s face remained as indifferent as ever, as though nothing in the world could faze him. But his words were like a warm spring breeze soothing her. 

“He’s just a scumbag. Don’t let him trouble you. 

“If you want, I can make sure he never shows up in front of you again.” 

Nadia shook her head.
