"Do you love him that much?" Lauren asked as I blinked in shock.
"Me, love that man, are you seriously asking me that? What I feel for him is respect because he's the king, I don't love him," I answered then swallowed hard, I really wasn't sure what I felt for him.
"And by the way where is Miriam, Deby, and Janet?" I asked while looking around.
"They went to admire the jewels at the craft store," Bridget answered Softly.
"You too should go as well," I said with a smile.
"What, no way, a queen should always have her ladies close by, just in case we are needed for an emergency," Lauren answered.
"Mmm. . . , like what emergency?" I asked with a raised brow.
"Like. . . . like. . . " Bridget trailed off.
"Lauren and Bridget, you know that you and the ladies are like my family, by now I know you more than you think I do, you are also dying to go and get some jewelry, so go on, I will be fine don't worry," I said softly.
"Then promise us you won't go out, if you want to then let the guards call for us," Lauren whispered.
"I promise Lauren, now go," I answered seriously.
Lauren held Bridget's hand and walked out happily.
I waited for few minutes to go by, when I was sure they might not be close by, I picked up my veil from the bed and walked out of my room, I remember one servant coming out of the library, it looked grand and beautiful with a lot of books, reading was one of the things I loved doing, sadly father use to tell at me for doing just that.
I walked in the library with a smile and moved to the shelves, books were meant to be read by men, not women, he said that everytime he saw a book and I got used to it.
"What can I read?" I whispered to myself while I trailed my fingers on a line of books.
The trumpets sounded making me turn and smile, I knew that they were a welcome for the king's arrival, I quickly went out of the room and rushed downstairs, to welcome him.
When I was nearly at the door I took in a deep breath and walked outside gracefully, my Ladies were all outside looking at me.
"What are you doing here?" I asked in a whisper.
"We were waiting for you of course," Lauren answered Softly.
"Let's go then," I said then walked to the carriage, the guard quickly opened the door and bowed.
Henry came out with a deep sigh, he looked slightly pale and tired I was about to go to him but stopped when Grace came out too, my heart began to beat rapidly, my feet felt glued to the ground, he looked at me then moved closer and stood in front of me with a smirked while Grace stood beside him, I bowed low as my ladies did the same.
"Welcome back," I whispered.
He shook his head then walked past me, Grace was about to follow him but Lauren held her hand.
"Grace, I think you have forgotten your place like I said last time, you bow to the queen," I said with emphasis.
She angrily glared at Lauren then bowed.
"Once a concubine always a concubine," Lauren whispered with a giggle.
