The company was tense at the moment since confidential information was disclosed. He could not afford to let anyone catch onto any tails.

Jessica remained in her spot. The thoughts in her mind finally retreated now that she understood the whole story

She stood and smoothed out the wrinkles on her clothes before walking out of the stairwell.

Back in the building, Trevor was waiting in front of her office. He looked up at Jessica just as she walked in through the door.

"Where did you go?" He spoke first. His words were tepid and void of emotions.

"To the pantry to get water," Jessica replied softly.

She didn't want to bring up the company's issue unless he asked her about it.

"You like listening to crosstalk, don't you?" He still did not bring up the issue.

She stepped forward to stand in front of him and picked up the document on the desk. "I heard some earlier. I wasn't interested."

She calmly flipped through it and deliberately stopped on the page that contained information about the newly developed software - as if reminding Trevor that it was time to talk about the issue.

Trevor noticed her actions. His slender fingers drummed against the table and his thin lips pressed tightly. He didn't say a word for a long time.
