As the voice echoed, three tall and striking figures swiftly walked in from outside. It was Remington, Cassius, and Timothy. Each had a distinct style, yet all exuded powerful auras. As they entered, the private room seemed to brighten a few shades.

Especially the few aspiring stars around Margaret, their eyes lit up, barely concealing their ambitions.

Stella and Shirley immediately tensed up, with Shirley instinctively shrinking back, unease written all over her face. Stella's fingers tightened nervously. She was haunted by the memory of seeing Remington holding Lizetta as they left the West estate four months ago.

She feared that Remington still harbored feelings for Lizetta, risking making a scene in public. Feeling lost, Stella was suddenly nudged by one of the young stars who had just been flattering her.

"Look, it's Mr. Dashiell! He must've heard about Ms. West's trouble and rushed over. Ms. West, go talk to him."

Without thinking, Stella took a few steps forward. Gathering her courage, she approached Remington with a forced smile.

"Remington, what brings you here? Heard about Liz and me? We had a little misunderstanding…"

Stella deliberately mentioned Lizetta and the misunderstanding, hoping it would prompt Remington to inquire further. In her mind, if he engaged in conversation, it would signal to everyone that he cared for her, that he came for her.

But to her disbelief, Remington seemed not to hear her, not even pausing as he walked past her as if she were invisible. Stella froze, her face turning pale. She didn't dare look back, already feeling the weight of astonished stares on her back.

Stella was taken aback, her face flushing with embarrassment. Remington, seemingly oblivious to her discomfort, turned back to Lizetta and said,

"Why would I care about her? She and I have nothing to do with each other."

His words felt like a slap across Stella's face, her cheeks burning with humiliation as her eyes welled up with tears. Lizetta looked up at Remington, their gazes locking. She was surprised; Remington had never been willing to embarrass Stella publicly like this before.

If only he had been like this earlier… But dwelling on it was pointless. She no longer needed his declarations or protection. Blinking away her thoughts, she offered a cool, distant smile.
