“I’m really sorry! I just-I wanted to get to the cars...” Blurting nonsense, Scar sobs as she tries to get words out.

“I know, baby, I know,” The man is not stopping, but starts pushing her in the direction of that closest, “and you did great! You will be safe, don’t worry!”

Scar knows he is just comforting her. She obviously worsened the situation. If Sebastian managed to do anything before this, she has ruined it by now.

“I’m sorry--” Scar couldn’t find anything to say. Only that word can find its way out of her.

“Hey, hey, hey, you are okay? I’m not mad at you. If the police can’t come in time, the cars would be our best shot!” Sebastian cups her face, bending low to search for her eyes. He gazes into her eyes, making her sees into his eyes, where there is only clean warmth and genuine care, “You did great and you almost made it. I’m just glad that you are not hurt. Get in there.”

“Here?” Scar backs into the in-wall closet, “We are hiding here again? We can’t, they are right behind us--!”

“Yes, we can. This is the safest way,” Sebastian forces her in, grabing the two handles on the doors. His body and the doors making a line, guarding the little fortress that she’s in.

“The door opens inward, we can’t hold it,” Haven’t figure out his plan, Scar tries to push her way out, “we have to find some other place to--”

“There is no better way,” The man’s slow, rough, calming tone pauses Scar. She blinks, trying hard to jump start her brain.

“Sebastian!” Scar shouts in panic, throwing her fists into the door, “What are you doing?!”

Pressing his hands on the frame of the door, the man lands his forehead on the gap between the two doors, his eyes closed, exhausted.
