He had been investigating that dealership but hadn’t found any trace of Chloe’s father.

It was strange–there was someone he just couldn’t track down. 

Alice took a deep breath.“Yeah, all the evidence hinges on that one missing piece.” If they could just get Chloe’s father’s testimony, the whole truth about the car accident would come to light. And they could prove that the Garcia family had hired someone to kill. 

The accident had not been an accident at all. It was premeditated murder. Jack grasped her hand.“The Welch family’s project is at a critical stage. Ethan will be wiring the money soon, and Chloe will start embezzling funds. That’s when we’ll be able to track down her father through the account records.” 

Alice nodded, forcing a smile.“Let’s hope so.”
