David’s expression was unreadable. “You really don’t see it?” 

Boris hesitated for a moment but ultimately gave an honest answer. “No, I don’t.”

David leaned back in his chair, his fingers tapping lightly against the armrest. 

Something wasn’t right about all this. But no one else seemed to notice. 

“Forget it.” He exhaled, rubbing his temple. “You wouldn’t get it.” 

He admitted that his initial reaction had been impulsive. Seeing Caroline with Cameron had set him off. That’s why he had lost control. That’s why he had acted recklessly. 

But now that he had thought it through, the pieces still didn’t fit. Cameron’s visit wasn’t just about work. 

Sure, it sounded reasonable–he wanted to meet Caroz’s lead formulator. A simple business request. 

But something about it felt off. 

David was convinced Cameron had another motive. He just didn’t know what it was yet. 

Boris clicked his tongue. “Love makes men so irrational.” 

David glanced at him. ““You think I’m overreacting? Making things up? That I’m stirring up trouble for no reason?” 

“Honestly? Yeah.” 

“Then wait and see.” David’s tone was calm but firm. “Time will prove me right.” 

He refused to believe Cameron had no hidden agenda when it came to Caroline. Cameron might be playing it safe now, keeping his intentions hidden. 

But eventually, he’d slip up. 

David was certain of it. 

For now, though, he was the only one who saw through it. 

To everyone else, he looked like he was making a big deal out of nothing. 

Boris sighed and leaned back. “So, Mr. Ellison, have you told Caroline about this little theory of yours?” 

“No.”
