“If Nash’s intel is accurate and Andrew is really sneaking off to meet Elizabeth, then David will witness everything firsthand. No explanations needed–the truth will speak for itself.” 

A satisfied smile curled on her lips. 

She casually rolled up the window, pretending she hadn’t noticed anything. 

Everything was falling into place. 

If Andrew was inside Elizabeth’s hospital room, then tonight would be very rewarding. 

And if no one was there? Well, she could always say she was just paying a visit. 

On the nearly deserted road, Caroline’s taxi moved steadily ahead, with David’s Maybach trailing at a consistent distance. 

Inside his car, David drove unhurriedly, his fingers idly tapping against the steering wheel. Why is she heading to the hospital this late? Could she actually be going to see Elizabeth? 

The thought seemed unlikely, yet the moment Caroline’s taxi stopped at the hospital entrance, David’s suspicions deepened. 

Through his windshield, he saw her step out and walk straight toward the inpatient building. 

Without hesitation, he parked and followed.

“You’re here again?” Elizabeth frowned, checking the time. “It’s barely past ten. You’re coming earlier and earlier. If we get caught, we’re done for.” 

Andrew smirked. “What can I say? I couldn’t stay away. I missed you.” 

“I’m not going anywhere,” she said flatly. 

Andrew chuckled, rubbing his hands together. “I just sleep better after checking in on our baby.” 

Elizabeth sighed, her irritation evident. “You really shouldn’t keep coming here. If Mr. Ellison shows up unexpectedly, I have no idea how you’re going to talk your way out of it.” 

Andrew smirked, unfazed. “If he was going to show up, he’d have done it by now. Trust me, he’s not coming tonight. That means I can spend more time with you.” 

Elizabeth clenched her jaw, an uncomfortable feeling settling in her chest. 

Even Andrew had noticed how distant and indifferent David had become toward her. He doesn’t care

Elizabeth let out a half–hearted chuckle, clearly uninterested, and remained silent. 

As Andrew traced his hand over her stomach, his touch gradually became more restless. 

“Not now,” Elizabeth warned. “The first three months are critical–I can’t take any risks.” Her voice dropped to a whisper. “Besides, my mother is staying here tonight. Stay as long as you want, but don’t even think about spending the night.” 

Andrew scowled. “Why is she here?” 

“To take care of me, obviously.” 

He sighed, annoyed. “Am I not enough?” 

The two continued their hushed conversation, blissfully unaware of the impending threat. 

Caroline was well aware of how cunning the Brooks family could be–she wasn’t about to take any risks.
