"A safe house," Lily deliberately answered in a way that kept Alexander on tenterhooks.

Only a few people knew she studied medicine with Dominic. Although she had no intention of hiding it from Alexander, she did not feel the need to bring it up now.

"A safe house?" Alexander looked at her deeply before saying with a smile, "Are you hiding something from me?"

"What's wrong? If you can have a safe house, why can't I have one too?" She raised her head and looked around the secret underground room. Besides the lack of light, everything seemed nice. It was not even stuffy.

"There’s a ventilation system here that allows the outside air to flow into the room. That's why it's not very stuffy here, although it's underground. However, we can’t do anything about the lighting. It doesn't matter if it's a bit dark, as long as it's safe," Alexander explained as if he could read Lily’s thoughts.

"That's true." Lily nodded. "By the way, I saw in the news that people who contracted the disease will experience tightness in their chest and may lose their sense of taste. Do you have these symptoms?"

Alexander shook his head. "I couldn't smell much at first, but after sniffing the sachet you gave me, I feel much better. Every time I feel discomfort, I take it out to sniff. It helps relieve me from my symptoms."

"Sachet?" She was a little surprised.

"Yeah!" He nodded and took out the crumpled sachet from his pocket.

It was a sachet Lily had filled with medicinal herbs she had given Alexander before he left. It contained herbs that would soothe the nerves and protect the lungs. She knew it was hot and humid in Burnwken, so she gave him that to allow him to sleep peacefully.

However, she did not expect it to help with the symptoms of the plague.

"It's getting late. You should go back. It gets dark fast out here," Alexander said after checking the time.

She paused briefly before continuing, "I can no longer interfere with the laboratory's affairs. You must get better as soon as possible. I need you. Our son needs you. Your whole family needs you!"

She seemed to already have this plan in mind and was coming here to persuade him. As for Alexander, Lily had indeed persuaded him.

Although he had been in Burnwken, he knew some of what was happening at home. On top of that, if he managed to get better, he would contribute to treating this plague.

"Okay," he finally nodded and agreed.

Lily relaxed a little when she heard that.

‘The most important thing right now is to help him get better.’ Lily was also curious about this disease. ‘What strand of virus caused this plague? Is it really related to the laboratory?’
