“No! No, she was just blabbering nonsense. Cameron, don’t take her words seriously!” In a panic, Maria cried as she pulled on Rhea’s arm, explaining further, “You know how stubborn Ree can be. She’s just mad at her dad! How could she have poisoned Anastasia? There must be some misunderstanding here…”

With that thought in mind, she looked at Anastasia. “Tasia, who told you that you were poisoned by the herbal plants? Was it Lily?”

Maria assumed so, as Anastasia had been in frequent contact with Lily only recently. “I’ve told you that she’s not a good influence on you. How could you listen to the things she said? It might not have been the herbal plants that affected you. If she’s right, why were you the only one poisoned? Look at your dad. He’s fine, isn’t he?”

“My dad isn’t home most of the time. I’m sure you’re well aware of that, Aunt Maria,” Anastasia responded lightly.

“What about the servants in your house…”

Before Maria finished her words, Anastasia interjected, as if she knew what Maria was about to say. “The servants don’t work here for a long time either, with five years being the longest duration of their service. Plus, I was young back then, and I’m naturally weaker than the adults.

Upon hearing that, Maria got an idea and nodded. “Yeah! Cameron, Ree can’t go to prison! That would be the end of her life! Could you forgive her? I’ve taken care of Anastasia for so many years and have even put in so much effort to cure her sickness. Could you forgive her for the sake of the things I’ve done for Anastasia?”

Maria was begging Cameron with her hands as well.

Cameron frowned. While the two were begging him, Rhea was standing next to them with a cold expression, saying nothing at all.

“If Rhea hadn’t been so evil as to poison Tasia, you wouldn’t need to find a miracle doctor for her at all. Are you saying that I should thank the two of you right now?” Cameron mocked. He did not think that there was anything he should thank Fabian and Maria for in this matter.
