"I'll pay you twice the original price of the treasures he has ruined, but…" Lily paused and curled up her lips into a smile. "You know that's not what I'm talking about, right?"

"Hmm…" After dragging out his hum, the older man put down his teacup. "You showed up so suddenly that I didn't have time to ask. How are things on your end?"

"It's done. We’ve developed the antidote. Otherwise, why would I be standing here?" Lily replied casually.

"Really?" Dominic frowned. "Why did I hear it's not that simple, and there are rats within the department?"

She did not expect Dominic to know this and pursed her lips. Lily gently ran her fingers through her hair and frowned. "Do you have an insider there, old man?"

"Why do you say it like that?! You make me sound like a spy!" Dominic slapped his thigh and gave her a look. "My apprentices are everywhere, okay?"

Lily rodded her eyes and nodded. "Yeah, yeah. You have apprentices all around the world. Then did any of your apprentices tell you where the people in the previous research institute came from? Are they trying to take over the world? Or do they want to destroy all of humankind?"

Dominic twirled his beard and said, "Austin mentioned they had that idea in mind. It seems like they want to develop some kind of virus that can rule the world, but I don't quite understand what they’re doing now.

“Look at the raging plague and this…catalyst on Austin. How can he rule the world in his state?"

"Of course not! He'll just randomly start killing people." Lily rubbed her temples and started to think. "When I was at the research institute, I felt that the purpose of their experiments was more complex than it seemed.

“Honestly, if they just wanted to study such a virus, why did they drag me into the pit? There's no need to spend so much time fusing their medicine with raw materials. I've thought about this, and I think…"

Hearing this, Dominic sneered. "Please. Are you calling yourself a nobody? If you're a nobody, then there would be no poverty in the world."

"How can you…" Lily waved her hand and stood up. "I think it's time to leave!"

"Little brat!" He laughed and called out after her. "Hurry up and bring that little—"

Before he could finish his sentence, he quickly changed his tone. "My dear child, why are you awake? Weren't you asleep? Did I wake you?"

Lily was in disbelief.
