Mike was astonished upon hearing that and glanced in Edward’s direction. He waited for an answer.

Edward said nothing, but his silence confirmed their thoughts.

“You’re insane,” Lily said lightly. Her voice was calm and without emotion. She sounded like she was reading a fact.

Mike agreed with her, adding, “If that’s your plan, then you’re crazy. Do you know how many people are here and how tight the security is? Also, many types of viruses exist here, including those well-developed and still developing. Are you aware of all that?”

A moment later, he continued, “How will you bring this place down by sacrificing yourself? Tell us. Don’t you know this place isn’t a vaccination development center? That’s just a cover-up for what they’re doing?

“Do you think you can leave here alive after destroying this place? Even if you sacrificed yourself and died, no one will know you for your good deeds. People will only remember you as a sinner!”

“I know that.” Edward was also calm—even slightly indifferent as if he was not the main character of their conversation. “I don’t care.”

Mike was speechless at his attitude because he and Lily cared. He realized anyone from the Russell family and anyone involved with them was insane. He had never known Edward as a stubborn person because Edward appeared sensible and reliable.

‘What happened to Edward that made him so dead-set on this plan?’

Before Mike could think of how to convince Edward, he heard Edward’s hurried voice. “Leave quickly! You don’t have much time left. Others will realize what’s happening here. It’ll be too late if you want to leave later!”

As he spoke, he grabbed Mike by his collar and planned to do the same to Lily. However, he changed his mind and grabbed her arm instead after looking at her. During his hesitation, Lily had already stepped backward, grabbed his arm, and twisted it.

After a momentary silence, Lily looked at him, her gaze full of conflicted emotions. “You’re severely poisoned!”

Edward was stunned, but his expression changed the next second. He did not deny what she said and replied calmly, “It doesn’t matter.”

“It does!” Lily was solemn and said thoughtfully, “Have you ever thought that you’re not alone and Liv is still waiting for you? She’s pregnant now but has always trusted you. Even if you treated Live that way, she never resented you.

“She’s so loyal to you, but how could you do this to her? You said you would sacrifice yourself and bring this place down. When you made that decision, did you think of her and your unborn child?”

Lily became infuriated as she spoke and gradually strengthened her grip on Edward’s wrist.
