"Look who we have here?"

"It's you" Hannah scoffed, she could not form the right words to say at that moment, this was the last man that she had hoped was going to be her boss. "Mike" she whispered and he smiled. Right there, she hoped she could wipe that ridiculous smile off his face, he was the last person that she wanted to be with, the mere sight of him made her want to Puke. He gives her the chills especially when he comes with that ridiculous smile on his face.

"So it's you and I"

Hannah wishes she could let him know that there was nothing like the both of them, it was just her alone. He was nothing to her, the only thing that she wanted was to out through his thick skull, nevertheless, this was not the right time, she had the right time and place. She barely started, today was her first day at work. When another knock came on the door and Ashley Smith walked into the room, she walked closer to Mike and he flung his arms around her waist so possessively, that Hannah scoffed, she was not fazed that he was with Ashley.

"I'm sure you remember Ashley, don't you?" Of course, she remembered her, how could she ever forget? However, she had not expected to roll her eyes at her.

"Ashley is one of your colleagues at the office"

Hannah did not see that coming, but then she was already here and there was nothing that she could do, the only thing that she could was smile at them. As if she was comfortable with their plan. It was bad having the creepy Mike as his boss but now she will have to contend with the conniving snake Ashley, without having to ask, she had a feeling that she was going to make her life a living hell.

"It's nice to meet you, Hannah, I hope we can learn to work together to make the business grow" she shot a smile

"Yes I want the same thing as well" Hannah flashed a smile back to her, however, she could tell that was nothing but an overpriced smile on her Face. She really didn't mean any of those words that she said to her, as a matter of fact, she had something up her sleeve, especially after being aware that her boyfriend Mike was her ex-boyfriend. When Ashley looked at Mile again, she realized that he had his eyes on Hannah all this while. That made her furious, nevertheless, she chose to keep quiet about it. She glared at Hannah right away, the girl understood her and quickly excused herself out of the office.

She could not blame her for having glared at her, Mike was the bastard who was going around setting division and sending weird signals to her and Ashley knew all about it. This was the only explanation for why that woman would choose to glare at her on her first days at work. As she settled into her cramped office, she didn't bother to look at any of her collegue.

When she looked down to pick up her own and get to work, Ashley strode into her office and dropped a large volume of files on her desk and it landed with an annoying staccato.

"Sort them out and bring them over to my desk before 5pm unless you want to show how incompetent you are" With that she turned on her heels and walked away and I was left to stare into space. As if that wasn't even enough, I received multiple emails from Mike addressed to me, he was trying to get me to work with him on some projects after office hours. That wasn't even part of the job.

I ignored his message and dived into the paperwork that I needed to do, it was so overwhelming having to do all of these at once. I was really not feeling it but I needed the job, I was not going to quit, not on my first day. I could not tell for how long that I sat on the stool, However, all I knew was that by evening, I was already done with the papers and had submitted it on her desk. I had skipped lunch and that made me feel very hungry.

Ashley picked up the paperwork that I had taken my time to meticulously sort out and flung it at me.

"Colossal waste of time, redo it immediately" she ordered.

"Yes I will get it done"

"You will get it done right away before you leave, do you understand that?"

When the words left her mouth, I gawked at her and wondered if she had lost her mind, it was already late and everyone was wrapping up to leave. It was just too much and I needed to make sure but I had to just take it all in. Hannah stayed back at the office redoing every paperwork before leaving.

The torture by Ashley and Mike went on like days for many more days, while Ashley tortured her with every slight chance that she got, Mike went on to keep her out. Despite all the torment that she passed through, she just couldn't quite get a job, jobs were hard to come by these days, not to mention the bills that she had to pay., She had to cover their medical expenses and her little home with Shawn.

When she thinks about all these things, it alleviates her spirit once again and she knows she needs to fight and not give up.
