“The idiot’s going to be a dad—I’m over the moon!”

Conner and Annie had barely hung up the phone before Conner jumped into the group chat. “I’m about to be a dad! I’m out, you losers can play without me!”

Over at Cedillo Inc., Andre’s phone started buzzing. He figured it was the usual—his kid getting into trouble again—but nope, it was just that lovable fool Conner.

Three messages popped up right after:

“What? We’re all becoming dads again?”

Asher chimed in: “Love it. Another kid to keep me young when I’m old and gray.”

Mars: “We’ve been honorary uncles for over two years now—we’ve got this down. Tell your wife not to stress, we’ll help out.”

Teddy: “Fingers crossed it’s a girl! We need a little princess in the gang. Then we’ll have the perfect mix.”

Andre grinned and put his phone away, calling his wife Mia, who was busy at home wrangling their son.

“Hey, babe?” Mia was adjusting Henry’s outfit, making him look like the star of a kids’ fashion ad. She held his hand as they headed out, and people couldn’t help but turn and stare. But of course, Henry insisted he was old enough to drive his toy car instead. When Mia said no, he threw himself on the floor and started rolling around, full-on drama.

After a quick scolding, Henry stood there, sniffling, his eyes wandering up to Cooper’s window on the second floor. “Cooper! Come save me!” As if he was in any real trouble.

“Annie’s pregnant. If you’re free, go to the hospital and hang out with her.”

“She’s pregnant?” Mia’s voice shot up with delight. “No wonder she sounded like she was at the hospital when I called!”

Henry stopped his little pity party. He saw the excitement on Mia’s face and knew something good was up. He toddled over and held up his tiny hand. “Where? Hold my paw, Mommy!”

“Don’t worry, I got it,” Mia said. “Conner’s your friend, Annie’s mine—I’ll look after her.” With no family around, friends were all they had.

Andre wasn’t about to let his buddy’s wife sit alone at the hospital.
