A muffled moan came out from my mouth as another punch of pain rushed inside. I almost can't take the pain on my hips and womanhood. Atlas was driving the car speedily. We quickly arrived at the biggest hospital of San Vicente. He didn't waste any time and carried me inside the hospital.

"It's okay. Everything's gonna be okay," he whispered and kissed my head.

"It hurts," I said, in pain.

I felt Atlas laying me down somewhere. When I opened my eyes, his worried face was what greeted me. Beside him was a uniformed nurse while behind him was also someone wearing a uniform, but I couldn't see it because of my vision blurring. I'm tired and desperately want to sleep.

"How often does it hurt, Ma'am?" the doctor asked.

"Do you really need to ask that? Seriously, my wife's about to give birth!" Atlas shouted at them.

I don't know what happened next. The only thing I know was the pain I was enduring. I can't even manage to open my eyes to look around but I know that someone put me on the bed. I could hear their voices but I couldn't understand what they were saying. Even Atlas' voice was unclear. The pain in my tummy was unbearable. I can't take it.

"Prepare a C-section," I heard someone utter near me.

A few moments later, I felt something being injected on my back, until I felt the voices slowly vanishing. My body was slowly getting numb until I was pulled into the voidness of slumber.

I don't know how long I slept. When I woke up, the feeling wasn't the same anymore. It felt like something was missing in me. Like something was lost.

I was already awake but I kept my eyes closed. I could hear them talking. I could also hear my father's voice. Even Atlas' mom was there. I can also hear Atlas' voice. When they mentioned the word baby, that's when I snapped out. That's when I realized everything.

"D-Dad! My baby. . ." I whispered and opened my eyes slowly. The blurry vision was still there that I needed to blink a few times. I even tried to get up and an inevitable pain in my tummy was felt.

"Careful," Atlas' voice was low. Like he just came from a long cry. His hands quickly guided me towards the bed's headboard. While I was just staring at him.

"Are you okay, dear?"

I turned to Atlas' mother when I finally placed myself properly. I smiled at her, even though it was still hard for me, just to make her see that I'm fine. I also smiled at Dad who was beside her. But, it immediately faltered when I saw sadness in his eyes.

"Is everything okay?" My forehead creased.
