I call mom as soon as I land. Mike’s jet is luxurious and I am pampered by the attendant even just for two hours. I sit on one of the adjustable spacious plush chairs.

The jet has cozy leather couches, and of course, a modern and spacious bathroom, and a lot bigger than the bathroom in my house. I wish I have more than two-hour flight because I’d love to avail of one of the cabins and the master suite.

As soon as I step down the jet’s stairways, I feel empty. I missed Phoenix, but I have to let him stay with his mom. I don’t want to be selfish to let him come with me when I know he needs to be there.

“Sam!” Mom yells my name, carrying a placard with my name written in a black marker.

I roll my eyes because I can’t believe she does that.

“Hey, mom. You have time to do that.” I kiss her cheek.

“Have a safe way home, Ms. Anderson,” Phil says who helps me with my luggage to Mom’s car compartment.

“Thank you, Phil! Have a safe flight back.”

He nods with courtesy and to Mom, then walks back inside the airport.

“Wow! Who’s that?” Mom looks at Phil.

“He works for Mike.”

“And who’s Mike, and where is Phoenix? Why he doesn’t come back with you?” She asks again, searching for Phoenix.

“If you think I fought with Phoenix, don’t go there. His mom is admitted to the hospital, and he has to stay there for a while with his brother, Hawk. And Mike is his mom’s fiancé.”

“Oh, sweetie. Is she okay?” She drives us out of the airport parking area.

“She’s okay. She is sedated when we left the hospital.” I feel sad for his mother, but the fact that Mike is a billionaire, I know she’s in good hands.

“Did they treat you well, Sam?”

“Yes, mom. They’re really nice people despite that they come from the money, I feel like I’ve known him for a while already.”

“I can see that when you have to come back to her alone.” I feel the sarcasm in my Mom’s voice.

My brow furrows. “What’s that supposed to mean?”

“They can tell you to stay there while their mom is still in the hospital, you know?”

I sigh. “Mom, I’m the one who forced Phoenix to stay there. We stay in the five-star hotel for free, and I came back with a private jet of Mike King.”

“Wait.” Her eyes widen in surprise. “Did you come here by a private jet? That’s the reason why your flight is late? I thought you’re delayed.” Mom’s voice raises a bit.

“Yes. So how can I complain? Hawk and his wife even asked me to extend my stay, but I have to work and I have to attend my class.”

“Wow! King? Sounds familiar,” she hmms.

“Heard of King Hotel chains. They have one actually here.”

“Oh, yeah. I remember he’s a widow, and his daughter married to the playboy Hughes.”

I roll my eyes. Mom loves gossips. She must have read those in the tabloid.

“He was a playboy. I met him and Abby, his wife. He’s Phoenix and Hawk cousin from his mother's side. His Mom is Williams.”

“And what Phoenix is doing here if he is from a rich family?”

“They have a home here in Ravenwood. He moved to New York when his parents divorced.”

My phone rings. It’s Phoenix. I can’t help but smile. God, I missed him already.

“Hey, just landed a few minutes ago. How’s your mom?”

He sighs, and I can’t help but close my eyes because I can imagine the sadness in his eyes. “She’s okay, but we can’t still talk to her until nine in the morning. Aren’t you going to ask how am I, princess?”

My smile spreads wider from my lips. “How’re ya doing, handsome?”

“Tell him I say hi,” Mom chuckles.

“Mom said Hi.”

“I heard that, beautiful. Tell her, I’ll see her soon. I’ll just make sure Mom is okay, then I’ll be with you as soon as I can.”

I bite my lower lip. “Can’t wait to see you again, Phoenix.”

I steal a glance at Mom, and she’s smiling.

“Missed me that much, huh? What did you miss in me, Samantha? The wall-banging, or you, riding me?”

My cheeks burn, and the worse part is, Mom sees my reaction.

“I have to go, Phoenix. I’ll call you as soon as we reach home.”

“Why, princess? Am I on speaker?”

“No, but let’s talk later, okay?”

He chuckles. “You’re blushing, aren’t you?”

“Yeah, kinda. Now, shut up!”

He barks to laughter.

God, I even missed his laugh. I can still feel the light sore as I press my thighs together. He’s absolutely having fun to embarrass me beside my mom.

I can’t help but think of what we did against the wall, and how I rode him in bed.

“Okay. I’ll let you go for now. We have to continue this later. How about phone sex, sounds good to you?”

My eyes widen. “Phoenix, you’re unbelievable!”

“It affects you, isn’t it, princess?”

“Just stop it!” I grit my teeth in annoyance because he’s right—it does affect me.

“Are you embarrass dirty talking with me while your mom is sitting next to you, Samantha?”

“Oh, thank God! Finally, you use your brain.” I release an exasperated sigh.

He laughs again. “Okay, beautiful. Call you later.”

Mom is still smiling after I hang up the call. “What?”

“What?” she asks me back innocently.

“Ugh! I know you heard it, mom. I’m sorry. Phoenix just likes to annoy me.”

“Don’t apologize, sweetie. You’re an adult, and he’s your boyfriend. I’m just glad that both of you had fun in New York. I don’t need details because you both are adults. Just stay safe, and I don’t wanna be a young grandma.” Holy! I want to be an invisible right now because I can feel my ears are burning.

“Mom!”

“What? Don’t tell me you can keep your hands off of each other, and I doubt that you two haven’t had sex. And I didn’t buy that your bed was broken because you jump on it out of your excitement. Maybe you jumped, but you were not alone.” Mom smiles wickedly, and I want to escape from this situation at this instant.

“Oh, god! Kill me now! You are worse than Phoenix.”
