I wake up with the warm limbs draping over me. Samantha is still snoring in my arms. I slowly slip out my body from her warm cuddle. No matter how much I want to stay and cuddle her all day, I already have plans for today and for the whole weekend.
I’m secretly talking with Sandy for these last three days. I still didn’t tell her that I knew she is my sister. Hawk will kick my ass to the other part of the continent if he will find out I’m hiding this kind of secret from him.
I start packing our clothes that’s good for three days. I bought some clothes and swimsuits for Samantha and tanning or sunscreen lotions women these days are using. I drag our two travel bags to the front door.
I pick up my phone and scan Sandy’s contact that I stole from Samantha’s phone.
Phoenix: Get your ass ready. We’ll be there in about an hour.
A few seconds later my phone buzzes signifying a message.
Sandy: Born ready.
Phoenix: I’ll drag your ass if you will not come with us.
Sandy: I don’t wanna be the third wheel, you know.
Phoenix: You won’t. Everyone will be there. It’s time for you to meet my family.
My stomach flips. I don’t want her to be surprised and feel cheated by Samantha, but she has to know that she will meet everyone there.
Sandy: What do you mean?
Phoenix: What I mean is that you are not a third wheel. All my family will be there. Since Sam is your friend, I think you should meet the people who care for her.
I hope it sounds believable. She replies immediately.
Sandy: Whatever. I don’t wanna be alone in my apartment while Sam is busy tanning her ass naked on the beach. Lol.
I chuckle. I like her already.
Phoenix: You’ll tan your ass too, sweetheart.
Sandy: You’ll tan your ass too, Alexander Phoenix.
My brows arch. What’s with my name? My lips spread into a grin. I place my phone down the kitchen island where I ate Samantha until she writhed. Fuck! My cock is on full alert.
Bad cock!
I’m jarring from my thoughts when my woman wraps her arms around my waist, pressing her body on me. I can feel her nipples harden against her thin nighties, and I know for sure she’s not wearing anything under. She presses her face against my back.
No matter how much I want to take her again here in this kitchen island, I have a better plan to take her somewhere.
“Morning,” she says with her groggy voice. Her warm breath sends tingles straight to my cock.
“Good morning, my love! I didn’t make breakfast for us, but we have to go somewhere today. So we might just buy coffee and donuts on our way.” I face her. Her eyes are still half-closed.
She nods.
She’s still beautiful even her hair is run by a tornado. Do I forget to mention that I love her hair?
“Where are we going?” She wraps her arms around me and inhales my naked chest. “You always smell so good, Phoenix.”
“You smell good, too, beautiful. I want to take you here right now. Did you feel me? But we have a place to go, and you take too much time in the bathroom. So, wake your lazy ass already.”
She chuckles, “Fine. Are we staying long?”
“I took care of that. Just wear something light and comfy.” I kiss her forehead, then she sways her lazy ass with a smug in her face.
“Inviting but not here, beautiful. I have a better idea for that.”
“Whatever!” she sings with laughs.
I stop in the coffee shops and order three coffee and a box of donuts for us. Sam doesn’t have an idea that we’re gonna pick up Sandy.
I get in the driver seat and give her the coffee she likes and a box of donuts.
“Why did you buy three coffee?” she asks after taking the box of donuts from my hand. I ignore her question, then my stomach grumbles when the smells of coffee and sugary donuts wafting inside the car.
She offers me a piece of donut wraps in a tissue paper.
“Thanks.” I sip my coffee and take a huge bite of this sweet fluffy little thing. I almost moan, maybe with hunger.
“Where are we exactly going?” She is biting her donut, too with a coffee on her other hand, and a box of donuts on her lap.
I love watching her munching her food like she doesn’t care even the world is watching her.
“We are going somewhere for the weekend.” I’m done eating in just two bites. I dab the powdered sugar that fell on my lap.
“You have sugar here,” she tells me, then wipes the side of my mouth with her thumb.
She’s making my heart melts. I’m so contented with my life lately, and I can’t ask for more. I have everything I need in my life—a woman that I love, money, businesses, a great family, friends, and a new-found sister.
I drive out from the coffee shop’s parking lot all the way to Sandy’s apartment building.
I notice a police car in front of the building. My stomach churns. I park immediately and get out of the car. Samantha follows, grabbing my hand.
“Phoenix, what’s going on here? Why are we here in Sandy’s apartment building?” I grab her hand as I sprint to get inside the building.
Once I get inside the lobby, I notice a police officer talking with Sandy who looks terrified. Her arms wrap around her body, and she’s only wearing denim shorts and a white shirt. A few nosey heads lurking around.
I swallow hard. Sam grips my hands tightly.
“Sandy!” I walk faster toward her. She snaps her head to our direction. She runs toward me, leaving the police officer behind, then the next thing I know, she launches herself and wraps her arms around me. Sam lets go of my hand, and I hug Sandy back.
“What happened, Sandy? Can’t you at least call me? Why is there a cop here?”
She pulls away from me to hug Sam. An officer of late twenties, medium-built wearing a blue uniform marches towards us.
“Sandra, I’m not done yet.” He stops in front of us while his eyes still on Sandy.
“What’s going on here officer?” I ask with a stern voice.
“I’m sorry, sir, but I can’t tell you any information unless you are related to the victim.” My jaw clenches.
Victim?
“You are gonna tell me or Sandy will do. Does she need to report it to the station or not? Because we have a place to go right now.” I cross my arms over my chest and look at the six-footer police officer.
“Alexander Phoenix, it’s okay. I shouldn’t have overreacted anyway. It was just a false alarm.”
My brows furrow. “What false alarm, Sandy?”
“She received a package placed on her front door with her name on it, and it contained a fake bomb,” the officer explains.
I breathe heavily while running my fingers through my hair.
“I opened the shoebox and there are a small digital clock and red, blue, and yellow wires attached to the clock and a rectangular shape written explosives on it. I threw it outside my door and I hid under my bed. I waited for a few minutes, but it didn’t explode. I dialed him to come to check,” She explains shyly.
I narrow my eyes on her. “Why didn’t you call a 911? Why him?”
She swallows hard. “We used to date,” she tells slowly.
I glare at the police officer and snort, “Used to date, huh?”Samantha elbows me.
“So, are we done, officer?” I ask the cop who looks confused.
“She doesn’t want to report and investigate it.” He shrugs “So, she is good to go,” he answers, still wearing a confused look on his face.
He faces Sandy. “If you will receive anything suspicious or even a text message, call me immediately, Sandra.”
